I like this dress of Desk Set, it's very becoming !
There are too some cute lady's suit
Actually, this is the only dress in DESK SET that I'm not crazy about. Love the material. The dress, not so much.
But love the other clothes in the movie - particularly the costume she wears when she first meets Tracy - and the one she wears at the end with the green lining in the jacket.
Oh...And I LOVE the coat and gloves in the rooftop scene.
More 50's faves: The dress she wears when she arrives in Venice in SUMMERTIME and - also from SUMMERTIME - that sort of pinkish/red dress she wears when she's sitting on the terrace writing letters home.
I love her coats !!!! Trench and others .... I have the same coat as her (stage door).... and I agree with you Catherine about the photo on the set of Morning glory..... her suit is great and could be wonderful upon one of us ;D

Phew, my grad pow-tee/gala/bash/fest/affair/extravaganza is finally ovah. And I got a Red Cobalt! And a bottle of Coco! And the greatest. balloon. that ever ballooned. I'll post a pick of it like tomorrow or something. *smirk*
LOL oh Catherine Of The Ringlets, I especially heart you! You are SO going to love Christopher Strong. YAYYY!
I want to rip that floating ribbon off her......does anyone even know where it originates? It's like a mystery. OMG, that random QS George Stevens photo. I kinda want to hang out with them. HOLY FRICK DICK HEP looky how red Kat's hair in GWCTD is! I want to dye mine that color, but red washes out after a minute. Boo. I LOVE that military coat in Stage Door. You own a coat like that, Aurelie? LUCKY! Singapore Susie! I heart her Morticia Adams-like dress from KOTF that makes her look like a beanstalk. But A RIDICULOUSLY GORGEOUS, STUNNING BEANSTALK. *sigh*
also, her chunky rings own a part of my life. She ALWAYS has one too! The one in DS *lusts*
(who just bought panties at Target cuz they were a houndstooth pattern? I have Kate nuddypants! Yeyz! Does anyone else find it funny how Spence's hand is kinda in between her thighs on the couch? hell, it is. HHEEEEE!!! And the ceramic rooster chilling behind them!oh wait....fashion fashion fashion.)
This dress from Summertime too!
oh ze gorgeous.
Yeah it's been posted. But I love it so it gets double postage.
Thanks for posting those pictures, guys. They always bring back memories of how I felt about Kate back in 2003. And I still feel the same way, of course. Sometimes I believe we ALL need to see pictures of Katharine every once in a while.
"As a human being, I don't suppose I have any real individuality. I'm the people I've met; I'm a mixture of everything I've ever read or seen. I'm everyone I've ever loved."
"You haven't changed from liquor to dope by any chance, have you Dexter?"
I actually find a great many of her costumes hideous.
But I do love her ball dress in Alice Adams. Was it just me, or was she the best dressed at that dance? Lovely girl. Lovely dress.
I also LOVE - AS DOES MY MOTHER - the black dress she put on in Adam's Rib. When they have dinner, and she gets Spence to do up the buttons at the back of it. Love that dress. If I had it, I must confess, I'd do all my housework in it.
I loved the outfit she wore in Stage Door during the Shakespeare/Hamlet discussion.
So yah. Those are my favorites. A bit odd I guess.
Only Kate can pull off half those looks. Like the floating ribbon thing in BUB, I loves it so much! I have to say the women knew how to shoe shop there isn't a pair of heels I've seen on those feet that I haven't drooled over and wanted. Like the ones on the front of the auction catalogue that metrostah posted.

CFK: So we all heard about Betty Bacall, I guess? Pretty rotten news, especially following so closely on Robin Williams. What a lousy week. Watched To Have and Have Not as tribute tonight.

Fran: I think the problem with actresses such as Bette Davis and Joan Crawford was that they played SEX SYMBOLS and did woman movies. They were sexy in their day and were the main love interests in the movie. When they got older those woman type movies were dead
Jun 26, 2017 16:56:41 GMT -5
Fran: Bette Davis made very different movies from Katherine Hepburn Hepburn. Bette was sexy. So was Crawford. They made woman type movies. Hepburn was the masculine feminist. When their looks went, so did their careers. Hepburn was never that type.

Angela: Personally, I like Bette Davis best she was "a woman for all season" she didn't mince words she did the role without having to apologize for creativity she musters to do the work. Also, she could look different without worrying about her appearance.

Angela: Personally, I felt Bette Davis was the "woman for all seasons" since she used all her creativity to make her artwork. As for Katherine she seems to sound the same - her voice didn't change. Granted she was good in Shakespeare which I give credit.

SJS: Bette had a mostly latent tendency to ham, and she admitted it. She really appreciated a director who could get her to tone it down. She lost respect for a director who would let her get away with it. But she took chances that most actresses wouldn't.
