You really don't have to be fashion conscious to admire some of the outfits that Kate wore in her movies. But, I must say, some of her clothes make me drool! ;D My favorite, along with a lot of people: The Adrian goddess dress in The Philadelphia Story. Perfection! GUH. Another fantasy of mine is to go back in time to the Metro lot and gawk over Adrian, Irene and Orry-Kelly's costumes. I was just wondering what other getups made you guys really squeal: "Oh my sainted aunt!"  |

The moth costume in CS. Katharine is the only person that could get away with wearing that costume and I can well believe that wearing it hurt like hell .

When I saw pictures of Kate wearing the moth dress in Christopher Strong, I thought it was for a costume party scene or something...nope. Aparently the character just felt like dressing like a moth! And you're right smith, only Katharine could pull that off.

She has said that the moth costume actually did not hurt. It was lined. But she also said that it weighed a ton.

oh yes, that dress in TPS is divine. I really love some of the outfits she wears in BUB, the dress she wears in the hotel bar especially. It's unfortunate that she doesn't wear it in it's entirity for long! I also love the dress she wears for the rest of the evening at the house/forest/jail etc.

For me, too, I'd have to say that the Phila Story dress is my absolute favorite. But I also love the outfit she wears to the ballgame in Woman of the Year....And I love her in the black dress in the same film...And the houndstooth-patterned robe in Adam's Rib...And the first outfit she wears in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - the dark coat with the checked lining....And practically everything she wears in Sea of Grass....And the dark pantsuit with the large white pockets in The Phila Story....and on and on...Judy

Some great costumes guys. Haha, oh Judy I know how it is. I started off with a list of my favorite Kath costumes, but I ended up with just about every piece of clothing she wore in a movie EVER. Ah well. Here are some of my favs(in no particular order): 1. The dress she wore to her party in Holiday (the one with the little scarf over her shoulder and the diamond broach. All of those diamonds! Wow!) 2. The dress in SOL at the concert 3. "Cute outfit Amanda. Really cute." Oh yeah! That outfit in AR in the home movie on the tennis court. I also adore the short-sleeved sweater with the stripes going along the sides. 4. The pantsuit outfit in WOTY (I found a quilted blazer just like her's today. I'm so excited!) and also the skirt-suit at the beginning...and the dress at the reception. Holy Toledo, Kate is the most perfect human being that walked the face of the earth! ;D 5. The polka-dotted outfits in WL and BUB 6.All of her outfits in Summertime. Has anyone else noticed that Kate really loved wearing red, white and blue combos? She wore a similar one in OGP. Woah, this is getting long. I'll stop now. |

Love the dress she wears when she first arrives and again when she leaves Venice and the red one... Oh! I also remember! Her shoes...I have fallen in love with her open-toed pumps, the ones in WOTY especially. Then she had to go and messy 'em up with those raw eggs! Oh, wait, it was only the right one...I could still steal the left one and look cool on that foot..That somehow makes sense to me..Or I could steal her pumps from AR. All of the clothing in TPS, all of the clothing in Undercurrent -- the evening dress in particular but the suits are beautiful, too. The white gown in Keeper of the Flame, the shirt and trousers and hat she wears in BUB when she and CG first start to follow George -- "George! George! Nice George! George!" Kate in her gypsy garb in The Little Minister -- with her hoop earrings and bangly necklace. The white evening dress in State of the Union. All of her clothes in Love Among the Ruins -- and the wonderful hats which she wore beautifully.
Basically -- I like everything Kate ever wore on film cause she made everything she wore look fantastic.
But my all time favorite -- the goddess gown by Adrian that she wore at the pool in TPS -- perfection.
