I liked the anecdote about Cynthia - about not wanting to go to the Aviator - that told me a lot.

Has anyone seen this video yet? Does anyone know what it is from? It has a bunch of leading ladies, from Drew Barrymore to Lillian Gish, sitting around in frilly dresses. Is it from an awards show or something? Anyway, there's a Kate segment at the end that looks like it was recorded the same time as the Hal Wallis one. I think it cuts off early but it's still neat. youtube.com/watch?v=TSwq7ONW2lw&mode=related&search=P.S. look for part 1 and 2 as well. I didn't even recognize Ginger Rogers. I didn't know she gained as much weight as she did.

Thanks for the videos, Shaun. It's so nice to see these ladies again especially those, and most of which, who are no longer with us.
I'm not quite sure, but I remember reading someplace that Ginger Rogers suffered some kind of illness (possibly a few years after) that made her appear bloated. According to the description this ceremony was held in 1987 and she appears to be in a healthy state. Although subsequently she became wheelchair-bound during the last years of her life due to a several strokes. She looks great in the video nevertheless. They all do.

I looked at Ginger Rogers' filmography and there was a television special in 87 called Happy 100th Birthday Hollywood. The video title told me that.

O.M.G. Sweet Mother Of Pearl. I finally found it. I am sort of sorry that I discovered it, but nontheless a part of me feels that it has some closure now hehe. just click it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTHl9a877noand have a box o' tissues handy. I think the purpose of these stinkin' TCM Remembers are to make us cry our eyes out in between films. And 2003 HAD to be the worst one--and by that I mean the one that will make you want to barf up your left lung because it's so sad and beautiful simulataneously.

Triva question - how many of the people in the youtube video were connected in some way with Katharine.
I will start - Hume Cronin - friend of Spencer and part of the infamous incident about Katharine and Spencer in the dressing room where Spencer had an attack of jealousy because Hume lit Katharine's cigarette for her - of course it was a platonic fit of jeal :)ousy
