Kate was PO'ed for many years that Kanin wrote the book. I think they eventually made up though.

Am greatful that Kanin wrote the book - simply love it. Not many books gives us fans that insight of Kate.
Believe that Kate understood that it did not harm her (hurt her carreer) but it had hurt her trust in him - which I understand. Think of it - a friend writes things that you don't want to see in print!

I've only read part one of the book and so far found very little of what would be considered too private or too personal for others to know. Frankly, I found that the majority of the conversations were quite humorous. In fact I figured that maybe Kanin had already planned to write this book for years, considering the question and answers format, and that both Spencer and Kate were completely aware of his intentions. That was my impression at least. I still have much more to read.

Umm yeah, there are some stories in there that *imply* that they were a couple, though. The Claridge's story. The operation/telephone strike story. He called her "honey" in one*giggle*. Garson writes too lovingly to not put two and two together. I could so see what he meant by those stories and I'd be pissed if I was Kate, too. BUT, the book *needed* to be published. And I think we had this discussion before!

Don't believe I've gotten to the "honey" bit yet, or the operation/telephone strike. I guess part one wasn't as elaborate and juicy as the rest.

It looks like the add that normaly is under the forum login moves down in the thread when we post or read the threads. If they stick to only one add each page - then fine - otherwise - BORE

I have that book too! I bought it at a flea market in Toronto. It pissed me off though, because it basically states that "what is rumored to be a very close romantic relationship is WRONG WRONG WRONG. The relationship between Tracy and Hepburn was actually just a reat friendship. (it makes it sound as if they were drinking buddies! *eyeroll*) yadda yadda." Okay, so I paraphrased that, but I don't feel like digging that book up haha.
Also, WELCOME JOHN! If you're a pal of dreamer's you MUST be an awesome person, too. ps, Garbo really is forever. I love that woman. <333
