The JPG.77 picture is one of my favourite pictures too . I don't know why - the natural setting and the freckles

You can insert images into posts by putting the URL inside the "img" tags (click on the painting icon, above the smilies) - give it a try! However, if the source image is large, I don't think you can customize the size for the post. I will insert thumbnails of the photos into Catherine's original post. By the way, thanks to everyone for your patience with the ProBoards v4 update! It was frustratingly slow - and totally out of my hands - but let's hope it's done for good this time.

So this is just if you find a photo on a web site? You can't attach jpgs, can you? JS

Hi: One more question. How does one insert a photo next to your name on the left side of the message box? I see a number of them there. Thanks. JS

AH thanks!! That's a lot better except the pictures are small and you can't get the whole effect unless you see it filling your screen Judy: I like the first picture because it is a natural setting and that mischievous/seductive look she does so well. And of course the freckles! The second one makes me happy just to look at it. It sort of captures the real Kate (the Kate that I associate with Kate Hepburn). And of course the last one you have to love. Only Kate. Catherine ;D

PS Judy: You can insert a photo in that box by going to "profile" > "Modify Profile" > and then scroll down to "Avatar URL" to insert a link to the photograph you want to post. I don't think you can use one from your harddrive unfortunately.

Thanks for the info, Catherine. I was hoping I'd be able to post a few from my hard drive, but I guess not...Maybe I'll be able to find these on the web and try your suggestion.... Anyway, till then, I'll describe them. They are from the set of LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT. One is of her in full costume looking in a mirror, fixing her makeup. Her back is to the viewer and we see her reflection in the mirror. www.katethegreat.net/gallery/ldjn-3.jpgI have a sort of mini collection of these looking into mirror shots and love them. My other favorite of this type is the famous one where we only see her side and back as she looks into that long mirror she brought to Africa. www.katethegreat.net/gallery/african-11.jpgThe other from Long Day's Journey is harder to describe. She's in profile with her legs up (wearing the white shirt, sleeve half rolled up uniform) and she is clearly in mid-conversation with someone off camera. If you look closely you can also see a couple of those by now famous newspaper hair rollers in her hair. www.katethegreat.net/gallery/ldjn-12.jpgThe other shot is also on the set. She's sitting way on top of a ladder talking to people on the ground...I have another of her from Guess Who's Coming to Dinner up a similar ladder....And then there's that famous one of her in full Little Women costume once again sitting on the top of a ladder and Laura Harding is lying on her back on the ground shooting a picture of her.... www.katethegreat.net/gallery/little-7.jpgAnyone detecty a pattern here? :-) Judy

Hmmm sounds like you're a behind-the-scenes candid picture sort of person I don't think I've seen the one with Laura Harding but the one you mentioned from the making of The African Queen I remember well. I love that picture, too. The stance she has in it. It's sort of like one of those oil paintings from the 17th century... or like a Waterhouse painting (can't remember what century he's from even though he's one of my favorite painters!). I'll have to look for the newspaper curler one since I haven't seen them yet! Maybe I'll post it for you if I find it. Catherine

Judy, if you (or anyone else) would like to post your own photos and/or avatars, please feel free to send them to me and I can set them up for you. I'm pretty sure I have some of the shots you mentioned, will have a look for them. katethegreat_net@yahoo.com

Also Judy, you can get an album at www.photobucket.com and in there add your harddrive photos. Then I think that you'll be able to use them as Avatars etc. At least it have worked for me on another forum, when I had the same problem. It's really easy. And about favourite photos...I might be back later, but for now I can at least agree with Catherine about especially the last one. It's great.

Yeah...I DO like the candids....Oh, not that I don't have my favorite studio shots....
Another candid I love is of Kate, Spencer and George Cukor sitting at the table on the Lindy's set of PAT AND MIKE.
GC is on the left of the photo cracking up. ST is in the middle with the MOST mischievous grin on his face and he is looking at... KH, who is on the right, looking down with a huge grin on her face.
ST has clearly just said something to tease Mrs. Pemberton.
Anyone know that one?

Thanks for sending the photos, Judy! I have inserted them into your original post in this thread (reply #7), except for... The other shot is also on the set. She's sitting way on top of a ladder talking to people on the ground...I have another of her from Guess Who's Coming to Dinner up a similar ladder.... www.katethegreat.net/gallery/ldjn-10.jpgNot sure if this is the right shot! I don't think I have the Guess Who's Coming to Dinner one.

Ha!! I'm glad I started this thread because I'm seeing pictures I've never seen before... and a couple that I'm adding to my favorites Thanks Judy. I love the GC, ST and KH one. I was also hoping the one with Laura Harding would be posted since I've seen all of two pictures of her -- but that one doesn't exactly give you the best shot of her... Catherine
