Good to see the forum so busy these days. Time was, I could go away for a week and it'd only take me half an hour to catch up. Now I've just been out of the country for 3 days and it took me till the wee small hours to read all the new posts!
That said - and yes, I know this is the general board - but some of the topics are a million miles away from anything Kate-related. Can anyone come up with any new threads about the great lady herself?

Yes the forum sure is hopping lately. It used to be that there weren't any new posts for days; now you can come and have about 8 new things to read...I love it.

Karina: I was noticing that myself, that we have been wandering way off-topic. But that comes with gaining new members -- Gem and Amber... and a couple others I think? I'm sure we can come up with something!

Sorry everyone - things have been getting a bit off topic. I know I'm partly to blame for being so nosy when meeting new people! I'm really enjoying being a part of this forum and there are some really friendly folks here, I guess it was easy to get carried away. However, to discuss Kate is the reason I joined up here, so bring it on. I certainly wouldn't want long standing members to be discouraged from visiting here because of all the off-topicness going on lately.
Perhaps some sort of Kate related game/quiz would be fun? I'm a pretty new fan and I'm not really very knowlegable on the subject of Kate (yet!), and I doubt I'd be able to answer many questions, but it would certainly be fun to read. Let's say, someone would ask a trivia question related to Kate and whoever get's the right answer get's to ask the next question. Just an idea!

Laura Harding Katharine's friend actually was in one of Katharine's films although the footage never survived the cutting room floor .
Which film?
Difficult question : Katharine had a flirtation with a 1920's poet after she left university . Name of the poet and the poem that he wrote which was about Katharine

Oopsies. I've noticed we've been slightly off-track as well. Didn't mean to rain on anybody's parade by just bounding in here. EEp! I'm so glad you all were so welcoming! It's just that people that are interested in Kate (and my age, to boot!) are too few and far between at my school (okay, I'm the only one), so it is quite hard to not want to just "let it all out", persay. It's like: "Getting to know you!! Getting to know alll about yooouuu!" Anyways, I'm beginning to really value this place and I don't want it to forget about why it was made in the first place. KATTY!!!! I'm game for Gem's great idea! ;D I was going to suggest something similar..Maybe 'Name This Quote' or '6 Degrees of Seperation' or something like that? We're all at different stages of discovering her, so it might be mucho fun!

Oh! I can answer Smith's difficult question, although it might not be that diffucult if you read 'Me'. Phelps Putnam and the poem was "The Daughters of the Sun"!

I forgot to ask a question. Hehe. Okay, what was the name of the bird species that Kate became almost obsessed while doing the Shakespear tour with Robert Helpmann in Australia?

hi Amber, I totally agree with you with what you said about getting excited about meeting people our own age with similar interests. I'm in my 20s and I have the same problem.
I was thinking of a quote game too - when you give a quote and everyone has to guess what film it's from, right? What is 6 Degrees of Separation though? If we're interested in this idea maybe we should start a new thread for it? As you answered the question, Amber, do you want to start it off with a new question?

Someone answer the Laura Harding question quick - it's driving me crazy, as I know the answer is lurking in some far distant brain cell!!

I think Judy and myself have to disqualify ourselves
We all have our area of expertise - mine is the 1955 tour of Australia .
