Are there any Anne fans here? I absolutely adore the movies and the books. Kate's grand-niece, Schuyler Grant, is in it (Marion's granddaughter and Kathy's niece). And this is her recenty: This is what IMDB said about her recently: Most recently, Schuyler Grant is teaching yoga in New York as a director at the Kula Yoga Project in New York City. She has considered running for the Senate or moving back to Northern California to raise a family. It also said this in the trivia section: Given an audition for Anne of Green Gables (1985) (TV) at the suggestion of her great-aunt, Katharine Hepburn. I love her in the Anne films. They were made for TV on PBS. If you get a chance you should watch them! Anne of Green Gables: www.imdb.com/title/tt0088727/Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel: www.imdb.com/title/tt0092571/Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story: www.imdb.com/title/tt0158466/Not a big fan of the third and final film...not like the books. Still enjoyable but not true to the Anne series at all.

Wouldn't call myself a fan of the series - but have seen and enjoyed the series. Especially Marilla. I think Colleen Drewhurst was one of a kind as Marilla.
But as much as I liked Colleen's Marilla - it would have been awsome to see what Kate would have made out of the character. She would have been great I believe - but she said no as we all know and suggested Schuyler Grant for the series.
Oh well at least one from the Hepburn clan was in it.

Yeah I would have to agree, I loved Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla. I loved Richard Farnsworth as Matthew too. He really seemed to portray him just like he was in the book, quiet and reserved. They both did an excellent job. Would have been even better if Kate had done it of course lol. But yes, at least Schuyler was in it.

I don't know- KH was a bit old for it at the time- I always pictured Marilla as in her late 40's early 50's. Now, KH as Marilla in her 50's, that would have been excellent.
