I'm on a healthy eating plan and working out hard using my gym membership to capacity!
It's been really hard as anyone who is a food LOVER knows, but I've managed to keep it up for three weeks now and have lost just over 5kgs (sorry we use kilograms in Australia).
My biggest inspiration, our lovely Miss Kate! I have that awesome picture of her playing tennis in Pat and Mike stuck to the back of my iPod case. TRY IT! When I go to the gym, I choose my song and turn over my iPod so I've got inspiration of such a sporty woman right in front of me! I'm so glad I tried it because it makes me run faster and go longer!
Different methods work for different people and the sporty and fit Kate - so far - has been working for me!
So if you've got a weight loss resolution this year, stick pictures of Kate everywhere. On the fridge, on your iPod, anywhere you can! I purposely chose a sporty picture because that's what's imspiring to me, that she wasn't just another 'skinny' movie star, depriving herself of food or having plastic surgery. Kate was an athlete. I love watching Pat and Mike before I go to the gym and think.. gee one day I'll hop on one foot 50 times haha

dreamer, not so much as a 'diet' but just changing some of the stupid ways I used to eat.
I have just changed little things like buying 'low fat' where I can. I have tried to only eat meat once a day (dinner or lunch). So at lunch time I might want a steak sandwich. That means at dinner I'll have pasta or something but with no meat.
Pasta was the biggest thing I changed. It is my favourite food and I couldn't live without it! I used to cook it with mince meat and tomato based sauce mixed etc.. now I have switched to a high fibre pasta which tastes exactly the same and is better for you and no mince meat, just the tomato or basil based sauce. With pasta I found to try and only eat tomato based ones. Anything with creamy white sauce is going to be very fattening.
Another little change was switching from 'white' to 'brown' bread. That took some getting used to but it's not all that bad, it just tastes like stale bread lol only x 2 slices per day.
The only thing I have gone 'without' that were among my favourites are pizza, KFC and chocolate. I loved them but they had to go. I realised in my research that you can't really make either of them 'fat free' or 'low fat' even haha
Switched from 'Coke' to 'Diet Coke'.
Don't eat fast foods anymore, try to pack my own lunch when leaving the house etc... but if I have to, I will have a 'wrap' (like a tortilla) which are available at alot of fast food stores now.
The most important thing is to EAT. 6 times a day if possible! When you don't eat your body stores fat because it thinks it isn't going to be fed again. Hence: we put on weight. The only thing I wouldn't go without was milk and cheese. If you love cheese like me, you should buy one that has less than 10 grams of fat per 100 grams. I could only find singley wrapped cheese, I couldn't find a block of cheese with that specification. But it tastes fine to me. Rather that than go without cheese! As far as milk, that's one thing I still have full cream. I couldn't get skim or low fat, but I don't drink alot of milk anyway. Only with my morning cereal.
I eat just like a normal person. I only realised a 'social' problem when I went to a birthday party and there were only fatty foods, ice creamand soft drink. I went without but was very hungry by the time I got home which is never good. So I've learned to always carry a snack with me. Fruit, whatever...
But a treat once in a while is also important so you don't go crazy or are deprived of anything.
Hope that made sense!

P.S. I havent been to the gym in about a month and am still averaging 1kg loss per week which is a healthy weight loss per week. Just by eating as above. 5 times per day, 6 when it's possible.

Hahah I am a cheese and milk person too. Not much of a meat person - am no vegan or vegetarian though. Just don't particularly like meat or fast food for that matter. That is I looooove a good Hot dog or a kebab I have tried eating 5-6 small meals (a slice of bread / a little salad per meal) a day - because it should be more healthy - but when I reach afternoon - can't get one more bite down. Am still trying to follow it - but the more I do - I loose appetite. Haha got my entire family on this one - and am the only one not able to follow it Cheers to you for getting so far ;D

Oww dreamer, sounds like a great eating plan. I know, it's alot of food! I am so much more full eating properly now than I ever was eating 3 meals per day.. probably because of the crappy content in the later though. I went into Sydney CBD yesterday and had no option but white bread when I purchased a sandwich. It felt so full on my tummy. Which is good. I kind of didn't like it anymore, yay! Good on you for getting your family on a healthy eating plan in Australia, there have been cases of whole streets going for weight loss records etc... it's a phenomenon now. Fast food and alcohol will probably be illegal in 2020 with more and more restrictions being put on them even today. Imagine that, underground fast food resturants, sneaking it from police haha Jess
