Being a 'new' fan is fabulous. You get to see lots of new pictures for the first time, read loads and find out more slowly, get information from crazed fans just like you from accross the globe and if you're lucky, you might even catch a TV special on your new love, Katharine Hepburn.
My grandfather has cable TV (which I do not) and wonderful as he is, recorded this Kate documentary for me. Has anyone else seen it? It was on Australia's Bio Channel and it was simply titled Biography: Katharine Hepburn (I think).
Anyway, I saw HIM for the first time speaking on this 50 minute special. That author I was warned against. And another of the authors I can't remember right now, a lady. I wonder what his background is because he sure likes to ad-lib. It's interesting how he seems to get the general gist of KH but completely over dramatises everything. Including remarks about Laura Harding which I'm presuming is in his book.
I found him to have a tonal quality with complete disregard of the legend he was a so called 'expert' speaker of. In parts he almost had a look of sarcasm. I wonder why one would devote months or years of time to a biography in which they are uterly uninterested in their subject matter.
Has anyone else seen what I'm talking about? Garson Kanin was on it too. At least one reputable source in this "Inside Hollywood" style biography.
Thank you to Amber and all others warning me of the book which (correct my quote if it is wrong) would "serve better use as bird cage lining". THANK YOU!
KH love to all ;D
