Hello everyone! I'm Katie, and I'm new here. You all seem like a lively bunch! Anyway, I have always been a fan of Classic Hollywood, and just recently a huge Kate fan. I became interested in here about a year ago, after picking up her Berg bio in the dollar store! What great deals you can find! lol. She and Doris Day are my favorite actresses... I was wondering...has anyone been to her gravesite? I live in CT, and its about an hour or so away from me. I'd like to go, but I would probably be in tears the whole time! Well, I look forward to coming to visit again... I'm 17, by the way.

Hello Katie,
Several of the "older" fans here have actually been to her gravesite. They'll probably discuss it more in detail for you.
Welcome, by the way. I hope to hear more from you.

Hi Katie! It's good to have another person around... it's amazing how much of a young fanbase Kate has. I'm 24... I feel old compared to you and Shaun and Richard. How lucky you are to be so close to historical landmarks... ;D I'll be in NY the beginning of next year and was wanting to plan a trip to Fenwick and the gravesite but I doubt I'll have time to do that and I'm sure my friends will think/know I am crazy.

Well if that's crazy, then I don't know what sane is Speaking of Fenwick, is it visible from the road? What's the name of the road that it's on?

I can't find the fan page with the pictures he took of Fenwick when he visited but it appears to be visible from the road. Maybe they were taken in the driveway. I wonder if the "keep out" signs are still there.

By the way, what is the status of the house now? She made the property surrounding it public, right? And they were doing renovations... just wondering if anyone knows what's going to happen to it.

Wait a minute, is Fenwick the name of the street/neighborhood the house is in? I must admit this has always kind of confused me--I thought it was like in Gone With the Wind where the house was called Tara.

The whole house is being renovated, raised and generally fixed up . I guess the owner will then sell it .

Thanks so much for the nice welcome!
Re: Favorite movie --
I have seen about 20 Kate movies so far...my favorite Comedy is probably Bringing Up Baby, and Long Days Joruney Into Night is...well, just amazing--I'm sure you understand.
I would have DIED to see Kate on the stage...has anyone here had the pleasure of that experience?

Wouldn't it be awesome if they turned it into a kind of inn... or bed and breakfast? Katie: Judy has She's seen her multiple times... and met her. But maybe I should let her tell you the story!

Hi, Katie,
If you go to the THEATRE section and then to the topic Grande Dame of the Theatre, you'll find something I wrote about having seen her onstage, etc.
Welcome to the board, by the way.
