Well, I just finished watching it. It is heaven. Those home videos alone were exciting, wouldn't you agree?. And, of course, there is Kate. Anyone notice that the director filmed Kate's hands at two moments in the video; they were a nice touch. And those reenactments... how cute were they? Has a sort of European flair.

Anyway, thank you again, dreamer, for this video. You made my week.

Hi Richard,
In case you want to own a VHS of this program, you could contact Connecticut Public Television as they were the ones who showed it.
The director (creator) of this film was Kate's brother-in-law Ellsworth Grant (Katharine Houghton's father) -- it was his production company that made the film. Since Grant first met Kate as a very young man when he was dating her sister Marion, I'm certain that he'd seen those marvelously, graceful hands many times in private conversation as well as in public -- and knew how important they were to any interaction with Kate. It definitely was a deft touch on his part.

I purchased a copy of it three years ago so you may still be able to contact them and get one.
The Hepburns were not only a fascinating group, but their in-laws were very special in their own right. Grant still lives in Fenwick and still writes wonderful books about the history of CT.

CAN I TELL YOU HOW FUNNY ELLSWORTH GRANT IS?? He sniffs raspberry truffles and then decides he doesn't much fancy raspberry truffles and proceeds to tell my friend to eat his. the one he sniffed. and he calls kathy houghton 'snickerdoodle'. and he falls asleep in the middle of his daughter's play. and SNORES. Clearly, he is the perfect representation of every male over 70.

oh thank you! I just finished it. She mentioned some things about her childhood that I haven't heard before. More ice skating footage! lol

I thought the reenactments were a bit long and was confused why the camera kept drifting to her hands but other than that it was great.
