Thank you very much I think it's diffrent translation, but it'll help me of course. If somebody had the translation used in the movie I'll be grateful too. So it is if you don't learn English hard Off topic: If somebody had transcrpit/English subtitles of Summertime, Stage Door, Without love, KOTF, LDJIN, Sylvia Scarlett (there are parts I dn't understand in these movies) - let me know.

About this one I have to admit .. that I never really finished watching it ... probably the only Kate film I have to say this about ... . but it was just kinda booooooooooooooooooooooooring ... I wish Vanessa Redgrave and Kate would have picked another movie to appear in together - Redgrave is SO great .. I have seen her playing Hecuba on stage ... that greek stuff is REALLY hard to take ... at least for me .. .. but she definitely takes your breath away performing ... great actress!! I know Kate thought so too!!!

On of my goals is to watch this film and really understand it - have tried and gave up - but it doesn't mean I wouldn't try again.
Really like many scenes in it.
From what I have understood of the story of the film - it is great - but sometimes it is as if they speak backwards as in law suites. They don't of course - it is old language - nothing more I guess.

*great pictures*
I was rather curious to read views and thoughts on Trojan Women – certainly not the easiest movie to digest but first-rate nonetheless. I think one should just have an idea of what it (greek tragedy to begin with) is about before setting off to watch it not only in order to avoid possible dissatisfaction but also appreciate its greatness, because it really is a great film. This is not a Hollywood movie – there are no effects, no fancy costumes. It’s a tragedy written more than 2.500 years ago for the stage -- 415 BC by Euripides! Talk about standing the test of time lol! Everything must be simple, sincere and raw.
When I first found out that it had been turned into a film I was excited but also cautious and curious. Michael Cacoyannis and whoever worked on it did a great job adapting the script and keeping the tone and form of the greek tragedy, which must have been a hell of a task. And then these brilliant actresses took it and interpreted it and… awed us! I believe Kate totally captured (as did the rest of the actresses) the tragic heroine – right down to the wailing and chest beating/hair pulling – and turned in a performance that was tragic and sorrowful but strong, proud and glorious – she was like a rock! I should think Euripides would be very satisfied.
It's certainly not a film I watch very often - I've only seen it twice. I searched for info on Trojan Women after the first time and when I watched it again - somewhat more enlightened and aware- I liked it even more. Go Hecuba!
