A Minnellli tribute is going on a the Brooklyn Academy of Music right now ... www.bam.org/MinnelliUNDERCURRENT is being shown on October 4 at 7pm. I just purchased a ticket (as well as one to THE BANDWAGON later this week ... love that movie) ... Minnelli and Hepburn noir on the big screen. I'm in! [and if I hadn't just seen all the Garland films on the the big screen at the Walter Reade at Lincoln Center this summer I'd be in line for THE CLOCK and MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS too .. ]

That's so cool. I would love to see it on the big screen. A while ago they showed The Philadelphia Story in one of the cinemas here. Unfortunately I couldn't go and I'm still waiting until they show one of Kate's films again. After all, they were intended for the big screen.
It's been quiet on here for quite a while. I guess everyone's waiting for the James Curtis book? I have mine pre-ordered already... ;D

Me three. ;D
6 years, ladies! And we're nearing the home stretch...
Back on point, be sure to say 'hulloh' to Bob Taylor and his Giant Foam Rock of Doom for me, whomever decides on attending this screening.
TETRADITE.

I was there last night to see Kate in her fearful spousal beauty, Robert Mitchum in his sultry smokey leather coatedness, and the creepy Robert Taylor -- who I can only think of as a HUAC-era name namer and general skunk ... fortunately that perception translates well for this character. Rock. Horse. Done. Image I snapped last night of poster in the BAM lobby about the Minnelli festival. Image of complete schedule of festival films in handout titled "Just Projecting: The Celluloid Spendor of Vincente Minnelli"

I couldn't face the R to Bklyn, so I passed.

And for those who find this kind of yammering interesting, I posted up a blog bit of blather about the movie. I usually feature theatre blather here but when the movies come in beautiful orchestrated bites as they did this summer with the Garland festival at the Walter Reade and now with Minnelli as BAM ... such riches .. I blather on about them too. wp.me/pHkrs-1yeJudy -- yes, it will happen, this meet up. Inevitable!
