I haven't yet been to the Hollywood Museum (i'm now on the east coast) ... but I need to go for a range of reasons .. including the fact that it's housed in the Max Factor building and has some permanent displays about makeup 'back in the day'. I'm working on a memoir about a Hollywood makeup artist (long deceased, but doing the memoir with her surviving niece) ... and part of what I'm still trying to get a feel for is the nature of makeup itself in the 1930s/40s/50s ... how it was to work with, texture, etc. some hints are to be found here i think! ...
