Hello everyone,
I’m new on here, so I’m gonna start by introducing myself.
My name is Evelien, I’m 22 and I live in Belgium. I have only been a Katharine Hepburn fan for a couple of months. I’m actually a big fan of Cate Blanchett and by watching her play Hepburn in the Aviator (I think she did a pretty good job, if you don’t mind me saying ) and by watching interviews with Blanchett in which she talks about Hepburn, I became really interested in her. I actually didn’t know a lot about her, so I started looking things up on the internet, and that’s where it all began…
So far I have seen 24 of her films, mostly ones from in the beginning of her career, and I have read 3 books: her autobiography, the book she wrote about the making of The African Queen and the biography by Anne Edwards. My favourite films so far are Alice Adams, Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story and Woman of the Year. I just can’t believe I didn’t discover her sooner. She was so unbelievably talented, far better than any of the contemporary actresses. And she must have been such a great person, so strong-willed, not afraid to stand up for what she believed in. I really admire her.
Anyway, I’m glad I found a place where I can talk to other people who love Kate (and who probably know a thousand times more about her than I do…) and I was surprised to see that there are also people of my age on here (I had about given up the hope of finding anybody my age who actually knows Kate and is interested in her…).
That’s about it for now. Hope to talk to you all soon!
Evelien
