Rest in Peace...
In her honour, I'm gonna watch The lion in winter today.

Ain't it just! It's one of those movies I can watch over and over because it's so light and fun.
Kate had great on screen chemistry with Joan Blondell (spelling?). They looked as though they were friends for years.
It was good that the other secretaries weren't big movie stars because I think that would have changed the whole tone of the film and drawn more attention to them than they needed. The casting was really spot on.
It looked like a really fun movie to make. Everyone seems really relaxed.

Kate looks so gorgeous in that gold dress from Desk Set!
I love the scene where Kate and Spence are having dinner and Gig Young bursts in; she talks about all the men that are constantly streaming in and out of her apartment...!
I'm trying to pick a film or two in honour of Kate today.... there are just too many amazing performances to choose from. I may also watch some of the Cavett interview- it's just hilarious!

Absolutely, she always wears the most gorgeous dresses. Like the one from The Philly Story. Or the one from Bringing up Baby.
I'm probably also gonna watch Holiday. Haven't seen that one in a while.

“I think that just being alive is a tremendous opportunity. It’s what you do with it that matters. . . . I have no fear of death. Must be wonderful. Like a long sleep. But let’s face it, it’s how you live that really counts.”

I love that line. Also 'Life is hard, after all it kills you.'

Can't believe it's been that long. I wasn't a fan then, but my mother cried (and she did NOT usually care about film, or its stars).
She left such an amazing body of work, and was a brilliant example to people everywhere.
And no one can say she didn't live her life to the fullest...

I was almost 11 years old when she died. I wasn't a fan either, but I had heard about her. My mom was very sad too.
I think she was one of the most active people in show business and definately left her mark. June 29, 2003 was a sad day.

R.I.P Kate! I love you!! I haven't seen anything of her today, just a video on YouTube, because this is a busy period and I have an exam in 2 days so eveything I do is studying. But I'm gonna watch something of her soon, I hope! I remember the day she died, I was almost 14 and it was the first time I heard of her name! I have to say I never forgot it since then, even before becoming a fan that happened just 3 years ago. Maybe it was destiny, i don't know , everytime I thought "Oh, Katharine Hepburn, she was that great actress everyone talked about that day, I guess she must have been really a good person, they say very nice things about her!" I never never forget that hot summer Sunday when after lunch, the news announced her death. It's strange that I remember it so good!

7 years ago, at around this time, I was upchucking in a field of Queen Anne's Lace. It's almost poetic if you think about it. I'm only sorry I can't impart a more sanitary image. But, eh, that's what happens when you're a child and your hero up and dies on you.
Miss you, Thing.

Oh Amber.... LOL I'm sorry I knew of Hepburn when she died but I really didn't pay much attention. I wasn't a FAN then. I remember more clearly Peck dying that same year.

There isn't a May 12th or a June 29th that goes by when I don't think of Kate.
