So I'm on the grounds of the Sony lot this past weekend, as part of a Garland event .. "Judy in Hollywood". just amazing I tell ya. a few snaps while a group of us were taking an "old Hollywood" themed guided tour of the lot. ... the Thalberg building (now called something else, who knows what, but its the Thalberg building dag nab it): and the hepburn building: we had an indulgent tour guide who allowed us to take some pics, but drew the line at taking pics in the STREISAND sound stage .. which is where, in 1939, the vocal tracks for a certain number called "over the rainbow" was recorded. ye gads! it was a wild ride, as part of a wondrous weekend. hepburn was there. .. oh yeah.

Thanks for the photos Martha - and Courtney.
I saw the Oscars and the Kinstler painting when the NPG did their Kate exhibit a few years back and now it seems the Oscars are there permanently. Nice.
As for the Sony - yeah, right - METRO lot - have never been on it and always longed to see it so thanks for a little taste, Martha. Love that there's a Hepburn building, as well there should be!
This Garland thing sounds wonderful. You'll have to give us a report.

This Garland thing sounds wonderful. You'll have to give us a report. Judy I promise i will. I'm still synthesizing .. and I'm in Chicago for the next few days consuming theatre and scheming things. I'll have to let the LA and Hollywood experiences settle a bit. It was a fabulous adventure

WOW!!!!!! Of course I am particularly interested in hearing about the Streisand scoring stage, which I didn't even know was the location of the recording session for Over the Rainbow. *gasp* amazing. Were you allowed to go inside??? I hate when you can't take photos of certain stuff, but I understand why at the same time.
LOVED the Hepurn photos, fantastic!

Hell, I'd buy a ticket. ;-) If only because the events held at a Judy Fest might bear a strong resemblance to the events held at an Amber Fest (<--Will never happen). And, Martha, you lucky stiff!! I originally thought you had made the pilgrimage to L.A. for the TCM Film Festival, but was tickled pink to hear there was also a Judy Tour/Party happening around the same time. And why not? The pictures are marvelous and have me drooling. Can't wait for more.
