I really can't remember when Spence first fell ill...(bad Kate/Spence fan!!!!  ) I found this through google and was amazed this footage exists!!!! You can watch it in a medium size screen if you can't see the small version. I hope everyone can view this...it's when Spence collapsed and was rushed to the hospital...I think Kate was with him...but, I haven't seen her in this clip.... Yes KH was with him at the time (1963 btw) but stayed well out of the way of the press for obvious reasons. I think once she knew he had medical care she let the family take over. I knew Spence had a Thunderbird, but two? Wow.
That clip is so sad. Poor Spence can't even get away from them when he's ill. (Louise looks so pissed off about it, who can blame her?) And of course, from then on he was never quite the same health-wise.
Nice house though.

Did Louise say something like "my husband's dying upstairs" or something to that effect? Anyone got better hearing than me? It sounded like that to me. Towards the end..

Also around 2:9:38 I think I can hear Spencer say something like "Oh my God" as he is about to be taken out of the ambulance. Anyone else hear that? WHAT a piece of film. Yeeha!

Wasn't the incident described in the Kanin book? I think what happened is they had rented the beach house, and were out picknicking or painting or whatever and Spence collapsed. KH called an ambulance, and once he had been taken away called Louise, and allowed his family to take over. I'm not sure if this was the time Kate and Louise would cross paths in the hospital visiting him and exchange notes on his progress.
I still think it's absolutely sick that this piece of film exists, but whatever.

I guess that the Paparazzi were just a force then as they are now...I don't think anyone in the public spotlight deserves all that they get...But, I think that after reading about the incident...and now seeing footage...It just makes it all real if you know what I'm saying? Court |

Just stumbled upon this interesting board.. Does anyone have any video interviews with KH?? Or maybe transcripts of them? I´ve been especially looking for the full version of the famous Cavett one forever and ever...
