For weeks you have been wondering...who is this mysterious poster? Who is the one who keeps resurrecting long-buried threads? Who is 'CrazyForKate', and what does she stand for?

My name is Rachael. I'm 18, Canadian, uni student of Poli Sci/Russian/Film. I've been a member for ages but didn't post until recently. Now, thanks to courtneymarie and her persistence, I am happily clogging up the "last 20 posts" list.
Have been a Kate fan since age 12, got over the creepy obsessive stage by 15 (thank god), and am now content with watching movies/reading bios/posting here. This is a terrific community, and all the people here seem friendly, so I hope I'm not intruding on a private Kate-worshipping society or anything.
I adore all her films of course, but have a special love for Holiday. Yay for Anti-Stuffed Shirts and Flying Trapezes!

Hi Rachael!! Welcome! I thought you might have been connected in some way with Courtney because it's so weird but when you post I always think it's her for some reason haha.. no idea why. Anywhoo great to have you on board. I'm kinda the 3rd or 4th newest one around these parts, so I'm still a newbie really. I'm Jess, 22 from Sydney Australia. My other great love is Barbra Streisand, you'll get used to my random Babs references like "oy vey" or others like that. I am only a member of two forums, this one and a Barbra Streisand one. From personal 'forum' experience this is the nicest one I have ever been on. You will never have any problems here. You can even say things like "I liked High Society" and not get banned from the baord (y'all know I love that movie, but Kate fans hate it, I know, I know LOL)!! But seriously, I have never been on a fan site where people have such respect for each other and celebrate rather than criticise opinions of others! This is a discussion board, not a screaming-match 'I am the biggest fan because..' board. So with that in mind, I'm sure you will and already do LOVE it here as I do!
You'll learn to read what I call 'Amber speak' which is a language only those of us on here understand from reading Amber's posts over time (I heart you long time Amber, you know it).
Great to have you on board. I'm sure I will forget your name unless you always sign off like I do, so pardon that. I always forget people's names lol

Anyway, hi Rachel. Long time coming that we properly introduce ourselves to each other. You're the authoress of WOTC, I presume? I must admit, you've got one helluva flair there, pal---even *if* you penned that epic during your gross [we ALL went through that phase, don't hate] obsessive stage. From what I gather, you were mighty young---we all were.
[And this is the part where you make a mad dash to lock all your doors and draw your blinds closed...]
Well, don't bother, because we've both been around this scene for so long that I was bound to come across your name in one yahoo group or another.

Haha has everyone read that? Good golly, I hope not. I wrote that at 13/14, with boredom and Barbara Leaming as my backup. What a crazy weird teenager I was. Anyway.
I see you're a longtime member of the board. It is such a lovely haven of Kate fantastic-ness, which was really good to hear from you by the way, Jess. Hope we can all keep that up.

I wouldn't worry about this place becoming tense or unfair or, hell, even unfriendly. I have a pretty low-tolerance for obnoxions and the like, so if such does rear its ugly head around these parts, well......

Yeah, Alicia's the only one I remember: hence, her screen name reminds me lol.. oh and Amber because in spite of what she says, the language in her posts is a roughly translated version of English, and half ... well whatever it is I simply adore and love reading it and you cannot confuse her posts with anyone elses. Many a time I have replied with absolutely no relevance to what she said and have had to correct myself after the second translation attempt but I love it LOL. It's.. cryptic and I heart it, end of story (and I really hope I spelled 'cryptic' correctly since I'm studying to become a high school teacher, eek!) LMAO.. anywhoo.. I don't know much about Canada except that Michael Buble is from there and it's near Seattle? It's kinda sad all my Canadian information is from television and music stars :S I notice they talk about it being close on Frasier all the time, so I presume it's closest American relative is Seattle? lol and is Celine Dion from there (not originally of course)? And um.. heaps of famous people that I can't think of right now. But I know you're like Australia and New Zealand, so never fear, I won't get confused and think you're from the US lol are there any other Canadians? Does that mean Courtney is from Canada? Canada actually has an extremely long border with the States, so it borders a whole bunch of places...but yeah Seattle is near the border. In State of the Union when they're in Seattle they briefly mention going up to Victoria, which is the capital of the westernmost province. And I squeal every time they do so. I don't know about other Canadians here, but Courtney's definitely American (for the longest time I thought she was Australian, probably mixing her up with you. Another bad member award!)

Hi Rachael, Nice to meet u again...(lol) I'm glad that ur finally on here  ....and I wouldn't call myself super obsessed still with Kate (I'm 22 now) but, I definitely would say that I'm a big fan lol ...I'm even writing a paper (hopefully I stick with my topic) for my senior thesis next semester on the history of women in society (I'm a history major )...and Kate is my biggest subject And I will admit that even though it is corny as hell...I love WOTC...lol Great writing with great characters lol Court PS...Yes I'm a proud Yankee...lol but, I would love to visit Australia someday |

WOTC, or Woman of the Century, is a fanfiction I wrote in the "obsessive" stage of being a fan. Unfortunately, I did not realize the consequences of posting it on the internet, and will now atone for the rest of my days. It is basically what would have happened if ST and KH had married. I look back on it with shame now, but give me two or three years and I'll probably just laugh. It's somewhere in the vast cesspool of The Internet if you're interested, though I would advise you to stay well away.
And now, let it be banished from mention on this site forever. Blech.
And HollywoodHepcat, I think you're a laugh and a half!
