Anyone else here a fan of the tv show "30 Rock"? I'm just getting into the show and I am now in the middle of the second season, but I'm loving it so far. Anyway the reason I posted this was because I was watching 'web exclusives' for the show on NBC's website where viewers can send in their questions to Tina Fey (the show's star) and she answers it in a video. Some person asked her if there were any "dead celebrities" that she would want to have on the show, and one of the people that Tina mentioned was Katharine the Great. Not that I really think that Kate would actually do the show, but that just makes me like Tina Fey even more now...

BY THE HAMMER OF THOR!
Erm. That means "yes." Like any self-respecting twenty-one-year-old female, I find a little bit o' myself in Liz Lemon---whether it's in her profound love for Food, her child/adulthood obsession with Star Wars or her revulsion of bare feet [to the point of wearing socks ON THE BEACH.....IN HER SANDALS]. T-Fey's a damn good writer and getting to be a pretty first-rate actress in her own right, so it's been interesting to see her development from SNL Head to Star of the #1 Network Comedy Show (I hesitate to classify '30 Rock' as a sitcom). Though of course, her roots are in improv aaaaand blah blah blah I'm not telling you anything you most likely haven't already picked up from the DVD commentary, so moving on.
Re: "Ask Tina"; I don't know if she was naming "Katharine the Great" so much as she was giving a shout-out to "Catherine the Great". As in, the Tsarina. Of Russia. Having said that, I admit to flipping my proverbial batshit at the idea of that Guest Star [Kate, not the Monarch] upon my first viewing. That would have been brillzies. I can see her playing Jack's long-lost great aunt, except that poor guy hasn't a sane family member and I just couldn't throw Kate at him and maintain a clear conscience. My heart hasn't completely turned black, contrary to popular belief. Ah dunno. All I know is that it would have been the best episode of that show to date. Judy would've been an excellent choice, too. HILARIOUS PEOPLE CLAMBAKE.

i'll go with 'by the hammer of thor' invocation too. or more simply: yes, big fan. one of the best things on television and in a rare moment of zeitgeist mano a mano ... what's popular is actually smart and ... well ... tina fey. nuff said.

Yeah I realized after I posted this that it very well could have been another Catherine, but I think that maybe Tina Fey was responding to the fact that the viewer asked about celebrities in reference to the 'guest stars,' usually meaning actors. She did say Zeppo Marx... Then again, she did also say Lady Byrd Johnson, so I really have no idea. I love your episode scenario, though. haha Poor Jack!
