I am wondering on buying another Kate book and I came over Andrew Brittons's "Katharine Hepburn: Star as Feminist" and it seemed very interesting and different. But what do you say? Is it something anyone would recommend or not recommend?

Britton's book IS interesting and he makes some good points. Did not agree with everything that he said but then, did not expect that I would. However, his writing style is not the most pleasant to read. Quite convoluted as he strives to clarify his ideas. Book has many very nice photos from Kate's films. I think it is worth reading.

I would borrow the book but not buy it . Britton has some pretty high falutin ideas and the book is very difficult to read

I checked out this book at the library about the time it came out. I'm with smith on this one -- it's difficult to read and very objective. Not something that's going to have a bunch of great Kate stories as the Kanin book, Me, or Kate Remembered do... but then again, it's not a biography.

Thanks for your comment. I think I'll try to see if it's in the library...
