Who else positively HATED Kip? I wanted Tracy to give him a good punch in the face.

HAHAHAH oh, Kip. NO MAKING FUN OF BONNER LOVIN'. Why would anyone, they're soo adorable. I believe I HAVE clocked him once or twice upon ocassion. Hurt my hand, but----didn't Adam punch him, though? Like, they came out of his apartment at the end and Kip's face looked MESSED UP. eww....or maybe it was the vase that Adam clunked over his head and that was dirt. Damn, you can't tell with black&white. There are some people that think he's a closeted gay or the George Cukor figure. I don't know about that, but I can see where they're coming from. But that would imply that Kate's so hot that even gay men want to canoodle with her! and that happens to be true, but..... *sigh* when she puts her head in his lap is one of my FAVES. Adam and Amanda are tree nymphs hahaha. Awww looky at Kattyslacks! All barefoot in the canoe whilst macking it with Spensuh. In other news, I just said 'macking it'. Wow. From far away it looks like he's choking her with that paddle! Silly, adorable married folk.
hmm now i just want to post multiple caps of AR! And I think I shall. but in the caps thread. kbye.

Laura Lansing Slept Here--does anyone else think the book Prideaux wrote about Kate is better than his movies? I do. This one certainly has some great moments (the grocery shopping part ) and Kate seems to have much more spunk in this one than she did in The Man Upstairs, which I saw again recently, but over all it's just....meh. Kate was great in it and many of the other actors were good too, but that part about the couple and their marital issues plus the wife who nearly had an affair with a soap opera star was just dumb.

What about Mrs. Delafield wants to Marry that was written by Prideaux too. Enjoy her spirit in that one.
But OK there is a difference between the actress Kate on the screen and the Kate (our Kate ;D) that he desribes in his book. One has to fall in love with her - or at least get a crush.
Hi Shaun - you made me totally insecure - had to check if he had written MDWTM - even though I knew. Totally ba wa today ;D

I suppose Mrs. Delafield is the strongest of the movies KH did with Prideaux, but I don't think none of them are as good as other tv movies she did--like The Glass Menagerie and Love Among the Ruins (haven't seen that LAR but I'm sure it's great).

Morning Glory-Movies from the early 30s that are about an hour long always feel rushed. Now I hate for a movie to go on and on, but an hour and 15 minutes is just too short. As soon as the story and characters are established, it's over. Kate was great, especially in the party scene where she recites the lines from Hamlet, but she was probably better in Little Women.
Grace Quigley-a delightfully quirky movie! Kate and Nolte are very good. I didn't understand the ending though. Hepburn's character learned at the end that she had been corrupted and that it was wrong to kill innocent people, but why did she and Nolte leave their Ultimate Solution business?

Congratulations - did you finally win at eBay?
I always thought that she because of her new "son" and Muriel who sort of became family, she didn't want to die anymore, life became interesting again.
That she realized to what expense it was for Seymour to be a hit-man, he could not take it anymore. He transformed in the film and the mum she used to be came back to his favor.
Think it was not only a film about being alone in old age (forgotten by the family) but also about people finding each other and care for each other.
Am I silly and romantic - anyone ?

Yes I did win on ebay! No dreamer that doesn't sound silly. Sounds reasonable to me.

Trojan woman, Break of hearts, Iron petticoat , my xmas presents. Trojan women is very strange, as a greek tragedy, but i didn't really like how Cacoyannis made the movie, but I tought performances of actresses were great, above all vanessa redgrave and kate of course, irene papas too (such beauty) Break of hearts, a very lovely movie, kate is so cute and moving, but i was desapointed by the end. Iron petticoat, i liked, a funny movie and kate's dress and underwears ;D I had too Long day's journey into the night but I didn't have time to watch it. Indeed, such xmas, but a xmas without kate's movies not the same ;D, thanks father christmas !

I saw Spitfire again today - the first time I didn't know what to think. Wanted to give it another chance. I liked the film - it is touching and funny at the same time. Some of her expresions were very "new" to me, so I sort of had to get used to them but as I did - I really enjoyed Spitfire.
How many of you have seen this film, as I don't recall reading something about it here on the board?
And did you like it?

I've seen Spitfire once and didn't care for it at all. Whereas Jo March fit her like a glove, Kate was all wrong for Trigger Hicks. They both shared that fiesty independence, but other than that...nothing.

HAHAHAHAHA WHERE TO BEGIN?
I think the fact that she gets clocked in the head with an apple from a country bumpkin is reason enough alone to not only see, but cherish this movie. That is the only thought I have on it right now..... I will pick this discussion up soon.... I WILL. Oh how I will.

Olly Olly Oxen Free--this one was really much better than I imagined it would be. I didn't expect for some of the scenes to be as beautifully photographed as they were. The script did get a little stale at times. Those two kids were either bickering with each other or Kate was spouting lines like "belive it and do it!" which could have easily been lifted from her own quips. This one was a pleasant suprise.
