Martha - I am sorry - but I was again to quick. Deleted your post with the thread as I moved Sherry's post to here. May I ask you to re-post your message?! Hi gang - Judy here. Just wanted to let you know that I took down the article - with dreamer's consent - because I think it's best if you just use the link to read it on Playbill.com. Here's the link again for anyone who's interested: www.playbill.com/features/article/130634-Katharine_Hepburn_On_StageJudy

Hi, I happened to see a clip about this exhibit on Youtube. It was awesome to see the items that were included. I also had a chance to see some of the photographs that Jusy took on her visit. Awesome. Does anyone know if the papers or the exhibit are still open to the public? I realize i sort of missed the boat, but I'm planning on taking a trip to NY before the end of the summer and would love to check this out. If anyone has any information please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks Dreamer, Would love to see this exhibit. George: The exhibit, alas, ended a while ago. But the KH papers are housed in the Special Collections room of The Billy Rose Theatre Collection at the Library for the Perf Arts at Lincoln Center. It's open to the public, but the room hours are restricted and since there are many, many linear feet of boxes, it's best to download the finding aid before you go so you can zero in on what you might want to see - which you can do by going to this link: www.nypl.org/archives/4907. If you want to read about what was in the 2009 exhibit, go here: www.playbill.com/features/article/130634-Katharine-Hepburn-On-StageJudy

Hey Judy, Thanks so much for getting back to me. Aww man..hate that I missed the exhibit, but I'll definatley read the article link posted and use the information provided. Really interested in Kate's time with the Shakespere festival in Stratford and Australian tours. I had the opprotunity to do Othello over the summer for a local theater and Kate was a huge inspiration, her being a Shakesperean actress. Again thanks for the info.

If you're interested in those periods - and I'm with you there - you should try to find these books, which are great to read on their own but which also contain anecdotal passages about the Australilan tour and Stratford: Hamlet's Dresser by Bob Smith (For a Shakespeare lover, this is a little treasure. And as a by-product, it also contains some wonderful and insightful passages about Kate and his experience as an intern at Stratford.) Unfinished Business by John Houseman (co-founder of the Festival in Stratford; Some great stories. His other memoir, called Run-Through, contains more info) Helpmann: The Authorised Biography by Elisabeth Salter (contains passages about her travels together with Helpmann) There are others, but these are three that come to mind immediately.

Unfinished Business by John Houseman (co-founder of the Festival in Stratford; Some great stories. His other memoir, called Run-Through, contains more info) oo, judy. i have 'run through' on my shelves (well actually in boxes that arrive in the new apartment on monday) .. don't think i've ever read 'unfinished business' but i could be wrong. time to double check that!
