Liz Smith writes on wowOwow that Charlotte Chandler is writing a new bio - about Kate “This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one … the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish, little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy!” So wrote George Bernard Shaw. And today — thinking on the late Katharine Hepburn, because the Hollywood historian Charlotte Chandler is about to write a book on her — I recall that the quote above was one of Miss Hepburn’s favorites. In fact, she passed it on to me at our last interview together.

OH HI, A NEW BIOGRAPHY! BECAUSE NO ONE HAS WRITTEN ABOUT THAT WOMAN YET TO DATE!
I have expressed more than once that this forum should write its own biography on Kate. Working title: Katharine Hepburn Revealed!: All the Secrets You Never Wanted to Know. Or, perhaps I should start the damn thing already and title it, I Once Threw Up After Tasting Katharine Hepburn's Recipe for Stew: A Personal Memoir.
It would be a New York Times bestseller, no doubt.

WOW - thought everyone had an oppinion on this subject. Am so sick and tired of all these so called know everything authors - am not sure if I want to spend money on further books. At least not until I have read the reviews. The BOOK I am waiting for is the biography about Spencer by Curtis or whats the name Am glad not to be alone with my thoughts. Thanks Amber.

Charlotte Chandler's biography of Bette Davis was worthless and I've heard nothing good about her books on Ingrid Bergman and Joan Crawford. I'ma gonna pass on this one.
Amber I'll write the afterword for that book, plus a whole chapter about Undercurrent. I'll basically bitch that it's an underappreciated gem.
