You definitely are a film junkie. Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House is going to air on TCM sometime this month and I'm really excited. I just love Cary Grant and Myrna Loy. Oh, what did you think of the original Thomas Crown Affair?

Richard: I saw the original Thomas Crown Affair a couple months ago. I had high hopes for it because I liked the remake and I figured, hey, remakes usually suck so this has got to be good... but I didn't like it that much. The weird sixties abstract paneling got annoying after a while but I liked Steve McQueen and especially Faye Dunaway. She's got to be one of the most beautiful actresses. Even now!
To add to my list: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (skeptical about remake... but Johnny Depp is in it!!) Chocolat Contact The African Queen The Ring Interview with a Vampire 25th Hour An Affair to Remember Unfaithful Somewhere in Time Seems Like Old Times Foxfire Taxi Driver American Beauty Girl with a Pearl Earring Lost in Translation Ghost World Being John Malkovich Clueless Switch Boys Don't Cry
By the way, Gia is the bestselling DVD on Yahoo Movies right now. Interesting... since five years ago that movie was unknown and I was content in my own little underground Angelina Jolie subculture. Why did she have to go mainstream??

Haha. Actually, the original 'The Thomas Crown Affair' has been known to put people to sleep. One of the main reasons why I like the movie so much is because of the song played during the opening credits. Perhaps you remember, "Windmills Of Your Mind" by Noel Harrison. I love that song, it's one of my favorites ever, and it really defines that movie. Oh, and I kinda liked that sixties abstract paneling. That was actually the very first time I saw it, but then I watched 'The Boston Strangler'. A movie that's practically filled with it.
I loved Taxi Driver by the way. Possibly Scorsese's best film I've seen from him so far... alongside 'Goodfellas' and 'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore'.
I just got finished watching 'Roman Holiday' this morning, and let me tell you... it is truly a wonderful film. Filled with great performances. That Audrey Hepburn is the ultimate eye candy and without a doubt one of the most gorgeous creatures to ever grace this planet.

Yeah, Taxi Driver is by far one of my favorite movies... I can't believe I forgot it in my first set of movies! Also: The Silence of the Lambs (how the hell can I forget that???) I think every man likes Audrey Hepburn. My dad thinks she's the most perfect creature to walk the planet... in my opinion she's cute... like, pixie cute. If I was going to chose between Audrey Hepburn and Katharine Hepburn... no doubt, Katharine Hepburn. Maybe if Audrey Hepburn had Katharine Hepburn's personality... I don't know. As for beauty alone, it's gotta be Faye Dunaway. Or Grace Kelly. PS I don't remember "Windmills of Your Mind".... maybe if you sang it a little

No vocals? Vocals is singing, right?
I think I know what happened. If you click on the link, it will take you to the soundtrack, and the 'Windmills of Your Mind' song is the very first song on the album. However, there is also an instrumental version which is song 12, perhaps you clicked the wrong one?
If you just copy and paste the entire link above into a new browser window, you'll get the one with vocals. I tried it, and it works.

I downloaded the whole song (yeah, I'm a pirate) and this version had singing... there are a ton of versions though. Dusty Springfield, Sting (which might be from the remake..?), Petula Clark and probably ten others.

I heard the Dusty Springfield version too, a little slow but I thought it was cool. Petula Clark? I love Petula... now I must find it.
