The Other Side of Ethel Mertz: The Life Story of Vivian Vance--readers have a great deal to choose from when picking a book about Lucille Ball but this is the only biography to pay respect to Vance-the greatest second banana in television history. It takes an interesting look at her early career on Broadway and her constant struggle to find stardom. It also delves into her hatred for her tv husband, William Frawley, her on-again, off-again friendship with Lucy and her attempts to shed the image of Ethel Mertz post 'I Love Lucy.' Fascinating.

How cool are you, Shaun, to be reading a bio about Vivian Vance. Rock on! I'm still reading my Ginger Rogers book.

I'm reading a bio on Che Guevara. Two of my friends think he is fantastic so I thought I would educate myself. ;D

Yeah he was fascinating -- I just watched Motorcycle Diaries which made me want to read about him more. The book is by David Sandison. It's more like a coffee table book with a lot of pictures.

Brocéliande, a plunge in the fantasy world of Merlin ... a little disapointing.
I began Mrs Dalloway of Virginia Woolf, after the movie The hours, I've always wanted to read what's happen during this day in life of Clarissa Dalloway. I 'd like to watch the movie with Vanessa Redgrave, someone have seen it ?

*sigh* I've now set my sights on Marilyn Monroe. I couldn't help it, guys, I'm completely under her spell. Anyone know of any good books? Looking on amazon only gave me a headache; seeing as they have a zillion books written about her, and it's much too difficult to choose.

Bleh Bleh Bleh. Madonna was a Garbo poser. Remember she is a reinventor. At the moment she's Dancing Queen a la John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. Yup. Anyway, no one's an original anymore! So ... there.

Besides "An Affair to Remember: The Remarkable Love Story..." I've also decided to purchase these two books.... "Marlene Dietrich" by her daughter Maria Riva.
