Good idea! Here goes. Kate quote:"Life is hard. After all, it kills you." So true. Kate-line from a movie: "You don't have to be a hen to know a bad egg." - Terry Randall Stage DoorI've been trying to work this into a conversation for years. Male- costar:Spencer Tracy. Cary Grant is thisclose though. Female-costar:Ginger Rogers Kate/Spence movie:Either Woman of the Year or Adam's Rib. Today I'm in a WOTY mood. Book about Kate:ME and Tracy and Hepburn Interview with Kate:Dick Cavett! With whom (actor/actress) would you have liked Kate to do a movie with:Lots of people but mostly Bette Davis. If you could pick one performance for which she didn't get the Oscar but should have - which movie/performance would it have been?Um, Undercurrent! Just kidding. This is a tough one. Maybe Long Day's Journey Into Night but 1962 was a tough year. Lots of good performances there. Probably either The Philadelphia Story or Alice Adams. If you could turn back time and could watch her in ONE stage performance - which one would you pick?:Coco. Philadelphia Story is tempting but we already have the movie version so I'll go with Coco. I can't pass up Kate's only musical performance. However, some of those early plays where Kate played small parts would have been so fun to see, that is if when we do this turn-back-time thing we still have our present knowledge about the legend she would become. Do you have a favorite Kate-scene in any movie? The dinner scene in Alice Adams. The train scene in Without Love when she snuggles up against the window. That scene was engrained into my memory before I had even seen 5 KH movies. It was part of a promo on TCM. Which photo is your altime favorite photo:About a hundred of them.

Kate quote: "If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased."
Kate-line from a movie: I can't remember a single line right now.
Male- costar: Spencer Bonaventure Tracy. But Humphrey Bogart, Henry Fonda and Cary Grant are not bad.
Female-costar: Joanna Miles (from The Glass Menagerie).
Kate/Spence movie: Adam's Rib
Book about Kate: Tracy and Hepburn
Interview with Kate: Dick Cavett
With whom (actor/actress) would you have liked Kate to do a movie with? Female: Barbara Stanwyck, Rita Hayworth, Ingrid Bergman or Bette Davis. Male: Clark Gable, Orson Welles, Gary Cooper, William Holden or Kirk Douglas.
If you could pick one performance for which she didn't get the Oscar but should have - which movie/performance would it have been? Too hard. Maybe Holiday or The Philadelphia Story.
If you could turn back time and could watch her in ONE stage performance - which one would you pick? Her debut -- The Big Pond.
Do you have a favorite Kate-scene in any movie? Again, too hard. Maybe the ending to Suddenly, Last Summer.
Which photo is your all-time favorite photo? I'm with Shaun here.

Kate quote:"You have never done it all, until you can't do it": Kate and most of these www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/k/katharine_hepburn.htmlKate-line from a movie: And I can't ever have you back again - You're all that I have ever loved - Christ, you don't know what nothing is - I want to die. No, you don't.I want to die. I'll hold you.Henry, I want to die. Eleanor.I want to die. Let me hold you.I want to die. You will, you know, someday - Just wait long enough, and it'll happen It is as if you feel her grief of losing ST here. Teares me up everytime Male- costar:Spencer Tracy. Peter O'Toole and Cary Grant are very close. Female-costar:LOL there aren't that many whome you really notice beside Kate - it would have to be Ginger Rogers or Katharine Houghton because of their scenes together. Kate/Spence movie:Please please don't force me Book about Kate:Her own books as well as Tracy and Hepburn by Kanin Interview with Kate:Katharine Hepburn A Tribute (narated by Geoffrey Giuliano) as she speaks of Ethel Barrymore and The Dick Cavett Show! With whom (actor/actress) would you have liked Kate to do a movie with:Uh - this one it tuff - a lot of people but mostly Greer Garson, Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall or Bette Davis I guess. Maybe even Clark Gable because he is one of the great male actors whom she did not work with. If you could pick one performance for which she didn't get the Oscar but should have - which movie/performance would it have been?Tough question Long Day's Journey Into Night or Little Women or Alice Adams. If you could turn back time and could watch her in ONE stage performance - which one would you pick?:This guestion is too hard - give me time Do you have a favorite Kate-scene in any movie? If it would probably be - because there are so many to choose from - scenes with ST - the cellar scene with Henry and the closeup in the end of Lion in Winter - the ending of Summertime, Kate and Rossario on the island, Kate waving goodby - as well as the dinner scene in Alice Adams - am positive that I have forgotten some Which photo is your altime favorite photo:Almost all of them - but if you force ,me - there are three and and could go on

O0o0o0o! It's been many, many moons since I've filled out one of these Kate things!
favorite:
Kate quote: "If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased." and "Listen to the Song Of Life." <-- Actually these are more or less regurgitated Hepburn family mottos but they count. They were the first of her's I've ever read and I live by them.
Kate-line from a movie: THERE ARE A LOT. Geez Uhm...
"The time to make up your mind about people... is NEVAR." and "Put me in your pocket Mike." and "That's Miss Goddess to you." and "Oh, we're going to talk about me are we, GOODY." and "My, she was yare." AND....
Anytime Kate says somthing in BUB and you can't quite make it out. "But Daaaavid! If you had an aunt that was going to give you a million dollars because she liked you and you knew she wouldn't like you if she found a leopardinyourapartmentwhatwould YOU DO?"
Oh, and from BUB: "I'll tell them that you're a DRUG ADDICT." <-- AHAHAHAH!
Adam's Rib, because it's my FAVE:
Well, basically the whole breakfast in bed scene. Because they're perfection.
PS, Shaun, I JUST used that line from Stage Door, like, a week ago! Pertaining to relationships of all things hahaha. ANd in the same breath: "As eggs go, I have my points."
male- costar: Ratty, oh how I love you.
female-costar: KATHY HOUGHTON!!!!!!!! <3 <3 The girls from TPS, too. <3
Kate/Spence movie: Adam's Rib/WOTY. AR is my favorite movie of all time, but K&S-wise how can you choose between these two? You just can't.
book about Kate: ME! TMOTAQOHIWTAWBBAHAALMM! -- by Kattyslacks. Haha.. and Garson Kanin's book.
interview with Kate: Dick Cavett, man.
with whom (actor/actress) would you have liked Kate to do a movie with: Golly, Clark would have been funny to see. AND BARBARA STANWYCK. AND MYRNA LOY. Kate just should have been in The Women.
if you could pick one performance for which she didn't get the Oscar but should have - which movie/performance would it have been? Well, obviously The Philly Story. Even though Ginger did a wonderful job in Kitty Foyle. LDJIN.
if you could turn back time and could watch her in ONE stage performance - which one would you pick?: THE PHILADELPHIA STORY. THE SCRIPT IS EVEN MORE SPARKLING. And Betty Bacall would lead me to my seat.
do you have a favorite Kate-scene in any movie? Too dang many. I've always felt a connection to the play room scenes in Holiday. Don't ask me why.
which photo is your altime favorite photo (I know its a hard one ): TOO DANG MANY. But I like Kate going nappy on the table because it's so random. Actually, any candid of her sleeping is quite humorous.

Amber.... you are so cute - don't we all listen to the song of life... each of us writing our book not to leave any blanc pages The reason I do love Kate's quotes are they are so pure and no nonsense - common sense, but said in a way that they are not to misunderstand.

Actually, any candid of her sleeping is quite humorous. It is kind of odd but looking at those candid photos of her sleeping ....please don't wake her up .... watch out! If you dare.... Some kind of need to protect her comes up.... ;D

interview with Kate: The one where she forgets his name I actually don't think she "forgot" Donahue's name, but rather it was her subtle way of sticking it to him for being an asshat to her throughout the entire interview. Kate's far too clever to let him basically abuse her in front of a camera and not serve him up a taste of his own medicine. ;D Oh! And I feel the same way about sleepy Kate, Dreamer. But I think it would be funny to wake her up once in a while. Like, steal her sombrero and run away with it. I'm kind of mishevious.

*waves shyly* Hello everyone. I've been lurking for quite a while, and finally decided to join the forum! I'm not very good at first impressions, but I'll do my best to give you some idea of the kind of person I am. My name is Maria Eduarda, but most people call me Madú, so please do. (easier to remember ) I'm seventeen years old and I live in Brazil. This makes my native tongue Portuguese so please, try not to mind all the grammar mistakes I'll make. I really love films, especially old ones! My favourite actresses are: Kate, of course! Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo, Vivien Leigh, Barbara Stanwyck, Elizabeth Taylor, Deborah Kerr… Meryl too! Actors... I HEART Montgomery Clift, Marlon Brando, James Dean... And then Jack Nicholson, Cary Grant... Books! I totally love them. My all-time favourites are “Lolita” by Vladimir Nabokov and “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams, though I like many others. And then there’s music, my first love! I’m very eclectic, but lately I’ve been listening mostly to: Amy Winehouse, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra... Favorite Films: The Philadelphia Story / Suddenly, Last Summer Favorite Film of all time: Sunset Boulevard / All About Eve / Gone With the Wind (It really depends on my mood) Favorite Performance:Comedy - The Philadelphia Story Drama - Long Day's Journey Into Night / The Lion in Winter How I became a fan: last year, after seeing "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" Ok, I guess that would be it! Looking forward to meeting you all! xxx Madú

Well....Hi, gang....I haven't been able to post for the longest time because I was not seeing the REPLY button on the posts. I could read but couldn't reply. Very frustrating. Took me a full week before I realized that for some reason I had become UN-registered. D-U-H. So I just re-registered and voila!....
Hi Madú:
Your grammar is just fine....And I LOVE the fact that you became a Kate fan after seeing Guess Who's Coming to Dinner. Me, too!
Only I was 13.
And it was in 1967.
I'm old enough to be your mother.
Okay. Now I'm depressed.
Somebody say something funny. (Pop quiz: What Kate movie is that from? Winner gets nuthin' but love.)
