You lucky one Judy Actually, she didn't SING her mink...she SINGED it Katharine also spent a good deal of time talking about how proud Kit was of Kate. How she loved that she was an actress and followed her career closely and how Marion and Peg kept scrapbooks and clippings about Kate's adventures in Hollywood. AND...Kit DID see Kate in AS YOU LIKE IT. Three times. In NY, Philadelphia and Buffalo. And...Katharine denounced the depiction of her family in THE AVIATOR as being "twaddle." Said it bore no resemblance to her grandparents. At all. I was thrilled to hear speak out about this. Judy Hi everyone, I'm Brooke, I'm new to the board. I attended the Remembering Aunt Kat event. I actually was the one who asked Katharine Houghton about 'The Aviation,' not to brag or anything but I'm sure you guys would brag too if you got to talk to her I actually think Scott Berg was in front of me. Did anyone else see him, too? I'm one of the young ones here on the board, it's good to see other young people with appreciation for great talent. -Brooke

I have had an appreciation of "our Kate" since I was 16 and started my journey with LIW. I am envious (in the best sense of course !) of those who have been able to visit Turtle Bay or the NYPL maybe someday I'll make it there or to Fenwick....In the mean time I have my books and movies to keep Kate in my memory and for endless inspiration

This gave her an opportunity to do that and her comments were great....There was a great deal to admire about THE AVIATOR, I think, but even so, I'm always amazed at films like this - made by very talented people - that pay such close attention to detail in some areas and then totally ignore it in others. Of course, this wasn't a movie about Kate Hepburn - actually that's what defenders LIKE to say, though I find that defense to be much ado about nothing, since they sure didn't have any problem using her to ratchet up the heat of the story. They should have spent less time on meticulously painting freckles on Cate Blanchett and more on honing the screenplay - especially the scenes at "Fenwick." As Katharine Houghton said, they didn't depict the Hepburns; they gave us the family out of THE PHILADELPHIA STORY (complete with an "Uncle Willie"). Too bad, because the real Hepburns were so much more interesting than the stock comic characters in THE AVIATOR. I didn't notice Berg, but he certainly could have been there. You should have been wearing a KtG nametag. I would have said hello. Judy
