absolutely ... there is a 'legends of hollywood' series that the u.s. postal service has had since .. 1995 or so. judy garland was honored in 2006 when postage was still 39 cents. lovely stamps. then next stamp announced in the series is bette davis (the 14th i think). for 2008.

kate hasn't been honored yet? what do we need to do to push this particular agenda?

and yes, its a scandal that kate has not yet been honored. the davis stamp just announced was timed to commemorate the centenary of HER birth ... we didn't get kate's going in time for this past year's commemoration ..but ... as elaine stritch told the story of little Brandon De Wilde at the opening night of A MEMBER OF THE WEDDING on broadway .. skipping down the hall .. knocking on the adult actor's doors, just before curtain up, shouting "its time! its time!"

so .. .i guess, rather than get (justifiably) angry over the oversight .. we ought to marshall our forces and happily state the obvious. because, for kate .. jimminy crickets ... its time.
