I finally got my mitts on a copy of the Sotheby's catalog. I cannot wait for it to arrive! Shaun: There are some errors in some of the IDs and photo captions....Still it's pretty special. Almost like reading a biography. Judy

The Sotheby's book came today!!!!! It's really a magnificent book; I didn't expect it to be as nice as it is.

Believe me, you will enjoy looking at this book many times cause by looking at her things -- furniture, paintings, etc. really gives you a feel for Kate and how she lived. Plus when you read books like ME and Kate Remembered, you can look at this book and picture really clearly what the rooms looked like in her homes. Sherry

Can't remember what I paid for mine - whatever the going rate on the Sotheby website was at the time & postage - but I'd have paid 10 times the price, it's such a wonderful record of all things Kate And like Sherry said, seeing all her personal effects gives you so much more of an insight into how she lived in her various homes than mere bio/autobio books do. And when you combine the two, then you really feel as though you knew & understood the very essence of Kate - but then I guess that's how we all feel anyway..........

Does anyone (translation: Judy, queen of the Kate fandom) know if there are prints available of this painting? I'm in love with it.

Does anyone (translation: Judy, queen of the Kate fandom) know if there are prints available of this painting? I'm in love with it. Sorry, Shaun. I don't know where to get a print... In 1983 - probably BS [before Shaun] the Grand Central Art Galleries in NYC had an exhibit of Kintsler work at which it was displayed and the catalog for the event features this portrait on the cover, so I have that in my collection along with the press material for the show, which includes a b/w prints of this painting of Kate, along with Cagney, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., John Wayne, Tennessee Williams. It also ran on the cover of a July 1984 American Artists magazine, which I also have... And, you have seen, I'm sure the seller on eBay who printed a book of her paintings? He's a friend of mine. And it's on the cover of that as well. Well worth the $100 if someone in your family is going to give you a present. JS

No I don't think I've seen this book. Is it the one called 'My Escape' that you mentioned a while back?
