I just made those brownies last night lol heres the recipe for the soda bread: (straight from the book)
4 cups unbleached flour, plus additional for dusting a cutting board 4 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup granulated sugar 2 cups raisins 4 teaspoons caraway seeds 4 eggs 1 pint sour cream 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 1/2 sticks salted butter, plus additional for greasing the pan
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, raisins, and caraway seeds and set aside. In a small bowl, combine the eggs, sour cream, and baking soda and mix well. Slowly add this liquid mixture to the dry ingredients. Lightly dust a wooden cutting board with flour. Place the dough on it and gently roll it back and forth in order to shape it into a loaf. Transfer the loaf to a greased 2-quart baking pan and bake for 1 hour.

I LOVE THIS BOOK ! I read it a month ago, and I think it took me 2 hours to finish it ! well... okay, maybe two days - but it was REAAALY quick ! hehe . I just couldn't put it down ! I love how it's from a "child's" point of view, it makes it more, well... sort of, "true" - you know what I mean ? Anyway.... Today I decided to try out Kate's brownie-recipe, and well, I did what it said, but first of all, I had to figure out the American pounds and I didn't have the same chocolate as she used, but hey - I'm from Denmark, so I'm excused BUT, I did it all my self, and from scratch, and they turned out GREAT ! I think my family liked them too, since they ate them all Haha . Here they are : Looks great, hu? It's a pretty cool feeling to have tasted Kate's favorite brownies
