I've just been flipping through some of my old Kath books.....lazy summer days............. Don't you guys love the way Kate phrases things? Such as: "The next day, Sunday, I was in bed with the curse and the terror of the conference..." At first I didn't know what she meant, but then it dawned on me....she had her period!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. OMG thanks for the info........and now that is my word for it.

Oh really? I must be out of the loop....I've just called it "it". Yeah there's that one too. We've also become famous for making the title longer with certain favorite four letter words.

Well, to get back to the topic at hand (and to make the guys a little bit more comfortable), I'm currently reading "Me," and I find Kate's writing style wonderfully quirky - just like the lady herself! I mean, you can really hear her saying the words herself, because she writes like she talks. Fantastic. At the same time, it amazes me that no editors tried to completely rewrite the book for her into a more, erm, traditional style. I'm certainly glad they didn't, though.
I'm about 2/3 of the way through the book, and my favorite quote so far is "I've made forty three pictures. Naturally I'm adorable in all of them - but I don't want to kill any of you, and some of them have a dangerous virus called boredom." Classic Kate! I love her sense of humor.

Hi, Elizabeth: Welcome aboard....If you don't already have it, I cannot recommend highly enough Kate's audio recording of ME. You can get it on CD or cassette - often on Ebay, but I think you can still find on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. It is worth every penny. It's abridged, but with this recording you really CAN hear her and it's sensational and funny and unexpectedly moving in parts. Judy

I have yet to buy this book and read all of it. I sat in Barnes and Noble for like an hour and a half and read a lot. But I didn't have money that day. Anyways, yes her writing style is totally and completely her own. She's as adorable on paper as she is on the screen.
