hi Shaun, it just lists the quotes really. They are a mixture of quotes that she herself said and things that she said in some of her movies. They are split up under categories though.

I got the John Bryson book for Christmas--it's probably my favorite thing that I received. Even though there aren't many funny anecdotes that are in other bios, all of the great pictures made up for that. How about that Ellsworth Grant? He has a library with all of Kate's movies and tv shows. Maybe we should all get in touch with him...
Next I want to get the Prideaux book.

The Hepburn family have heaps of footage of Katharine and other members of the family from the year got . It would be interesting to see it - I don't think I have seen anything cuter than a 7-8 year old Kate padding a little canoe/kayak . Also a couple of months ago they had a program where they showed footage of Dr and Kit Hepburn dancing in their house .

Love Gem I'm assuming you were talking about "Katharine Hepburn Once Said..." Well I bought it a week ago (to my surprise, a very small book) and finished it within an hour. I was expecting a giant book of quotes but was saddened to find out there was practically just one Hepburnism on every page. Nonetheless it was a nice read. Great photos. Not bad considering I bought it brand new for $6. Now I ask what is to be my next Hepburn book? Anybody have any suggestions? That, of course, will have to come after the next book I'm planning to buy "Audrey Hepburn - A Son Remembers". I still remember Judy, and I haven't forgotten. I've had plenty of dose from Katharine but now I must move on to Audrey. Please understand all.

It's wonderful on any level, but if you're an Audrey Hepburn lover, it is a must. Judy

As long as you're not going to abandon Kate altogether & will still be dropping in here I'm sure most of us here admire other stars as well, but Kate will always be number one for me.

Same for me. I've begun to branch out to Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, and Irene Dunne but Kate will always be my favorite.

I finally got around to reading the Prideaux book. At first I got irritated that he talked about himself too much; I even started to think up cute little titles like "Knowing Prideaux, Elizabeth Taylor, Julie Harris........oh and Kate Hepburn." But once I got to the Delafield part I shut my mouth. I loved this book for the most part and Prideaux's writing was very funny and readable, unlike Higham's that gets a little boring. It's awesome to read about parts of KH's career that most biographers gloss over. Amber have you read it yet?

I bought the Higham biography at The Strand in NY (I love that store!!) for $6. I was so excited. They had a few others but most of them you can find pretty much anywhere (or at least online). I actually went to look for an Osho book but of course I get side-tracked when I walk past the film section. I haven't really been reading it attentively. I took it on the plane with me and pretended to read to keep my mind off of the turbulence and the fact that I was 35,000 feet in the air. . . so I pretty much have to go back three chapters to re-read. I don't think the book is that poorly written (as mentioned on here before). . .

Higham's book is the first Kate biography I read so I tend to like it a bit more than most people.

I actually LOVE the Higham book. It's different -- he actually interviewed Laura and other Hep folks, so it makes for a fun read......and OMG there's this one part about "coffee" and she's totally talking about sex and........it may be because he doesn't know what a transition is, but what he does with that quote is HILARIOUS. And now whenever a person talks about sex I refer to it as "making coffee". You'll see. (and I don't like the Berg book that much, so it's okay to have different views on these bios. The Hepburn family doesn't like any of them, so it's all good.)

Has anyone in Kate's family spoken out against the Berg bio?
