Do you know if she has had any relationships after Spencer died?He was the great love of her life, but she has survived him for more than 30 years...I've read somewhere that she was a close friend of a man(I don't remember his name),and someone said that they were romantically involved but I wonder if it's true...there are so many lies in show business!

This is kind of a question and an answer...I guess lol I was reading Me and in the chapter about Willie Rose...I really got confused...some places I have heard that they "dated" other's they were just good friends...so if anyone could help...but I think the good friend after Spence might have been Willie Rose...he was younger but of the pictures that I have seen very handsome

Willie Rose and his Maserati is, without question, the most confusing thing I have ever read. Oh Kate, you're so weird. (I say it with love!!!)

Oh, you definitely aren't the only one, pal.
Together we sort of "de-coded" every nuance and phrase in "Willie Rose and His Maserati" [dramatic readings and all], and finally decreed the whole thing one big innuendo of the sexual variety.
And subsequently took it back because 1) We weren't serious in the first place and 2) Ew.
But that's just our interpretation.
Basically, I'm in the belief that Kate, in a valiant effort to skirt around "taboo topics", thunked up this totally poignant and relevant experience from her past about Willie and his damned Italian luxury automobile, and decided it was just the kind of "Zing!" her book needed. The scripted format was completely necessary, as well.
Moral: Kate was a big ol' flirt. Also, she's weird. (I SAY IT WITH LO---You get the idea.)

Did I miss a chapter? It's been a while but I tooootally don't remember reading "Willie Rose and His Maserati" (WT#?)
Hooooooooooold on.. I just realised something. I only read about 1/4 of "ME" and it was so cryptic I stopped and listened to Kate read it for me. I bet that was one of the chapters she didn't read, am I right? Does anyone remember? I know she doesn't read the entire text. I'll have to get it out and actually read it. Ow darn. Kate, why the hell do you have to write so strangely so I can't understand all this 'Kate code'.
Let's take a vote, is this part worth reading or will it simply confuse, stun and horrify me?
Dazed and confused,
Jess

Dazed and confused, Jess Yes, Jess, there's a bunch of stuff in the book that is not included in the abridged version which Kate reads. The last chapters, for instance. And also the Rose chapter, among others. I LOVE her recording of the book but you must actually read the print version to get the full story.

Good I'm not the only one that was confused by that chapter. I was a bit confuzled by the Memorial Day chapter also. I read the book and now I'm listing to it. I love hearing her read her own words.

I totally agree, it's wonderful listening to her read the book. I wonder if she ever read to her child relatives. I'd love to hear her read a children's book. I bet she'd make different sounds and expressions for each of the characters for some reason.
But, chrliesgirl7681, the majority of the text is difficult for me to read, so yeah it's deffinately not just you. I think Kate liked to keep some of it open for interpretation. That's the way it reads to me. So I think five people could read the same chapter and get five different things out of it that the other didn't think. She has that style of writing that makes you think, does that make sense? lol
