Has anybody else read Haywire - the book written by Leland's daughter Brooke .
Only a couple of mentions of Katharine - Margaret Sullavan obviously didn't like her husband talking about his ex girlfriends . What a dysfunctional family . Fortunately I believe Brooke and Bill have gone on to lead productive lives .

Yes, I read Haywire in 1977 when it was first published. Long time ago but do recall that it was an interesting book and the story of kids surviving their awful childhood with very ill-equipped parents.

Well what was unusual about the story was that both parents seemed to be so ill equipped to deal with their children .
I was glad after reading the story that Katharine never took the relationship further with Leland or that fate intervened . By the way in the Parrish book there is a section about Leland which might be true . Remember how Leland didn't tell Katharine that he was getting married - she heard it over the radio . Apparently Leland discussed this incident with his son Bill . Bill told his father that he didn't think he had shown much courage . Leland allegedly replied , once Katharine is your friend she is your friend for life .
