Despite what you read Katharine was well liked by her colleagues and she wouldn't have survived for over 60 years if she couldn't network and build relationships with other people .
But there were a few people who Katharine didn't like for pretty good reasons . Who were they?
I will start . Jed Harris - Katharine later described him as the most diabolical person she ever met . Tried to destroy her career in The Lake . My idea is that she rejected him but he was pretty nasty to most people . He got Ruth Gordon pregnant and she gave birth to his illegitimate son .

Did he abandon Ruth Gordon and his "illegitimate" son?
I don't really know who she didn't get along with. I know she tended to rip people's heads off but usually they didn't take it to heart (i.e. Jane Fonda for being late, the makeup guy...).

Yes I believe Ruth hired somebody to look after her son - I don't know the whole story

There's also her altercation with Mankiewicz at the end of filming Suddenly Last Summer. I know this was mainly because of the way he'd treated Montgomery Clift, but does anyone know if the dislike continued?
And on a political note, didn't she wait until the Reagans were out of office before agreeing to accept her Kennedy Centre award?

Yes I remember reading the thing about the Reagans. She probably didn't like Bush much either but decided to go to the awards anyway.
I've read in someplaces that Ginger Rogers didn't care much for Kate. I don't know how Kate felt about her though.

Yep, she sure did. She didn't like Ron too much, nosireebobfosse. Who could blame her? Also, let's not forget Adolphe Menjou! Him with his stupid HCUA and whatnot. Ick. What professionalism on both Spence and Kate's behalves to keep it cool on the set of SOTU.

Adolphe Menjou? She didn't like him? I thought the Ginger Rogers story was a rumor (and the other way around).

Yeah she didn't think too highly of Menjou because of something with the HUAC..or something. I need to brush up on my Katharine Hepburn history!
It's highly likely. I read that info on a message board and on IMDb of all places! That forum has more trolls than a...a...than a something.

It says on imdb.com that Kate didn't get along with Robert Mitchum during the making of Undercurrent. It doesn't say why.

I read somewhere and for the life of me I can't remember where (or if I really did read it or just imagined it ) that said that they actually did get along. Biographers should write more about Undercurrent it's a terrific movie.

Read somewhere that she didn't like Reeve's grandmother (they went to school together) as he wanted to greet from her. But sorry can't remember where. One of you?
