i do collect those colorized versions of calssic films.
i just taped FATHER OF THE BRIDE colorized.
If anyone is interrested i make screencaps.

HE HE...you get the whole film.
But i don't have the first 20 mins...i started taping it when they are in bed (at night)...thinking, talking and waiting for LIZ to come back home.

John are you talking about the film with Spencer Tracy or with Stewe Martin? Have seen both but ST is my favorite - Steve Martin is kind of silly and doesn't have the charisma that ST had (actually he does not even reach his knees in his actingskills) ST is the only actor, who really and truly works for me |

Though I always prefer an original black and white movie to its colorized version, I'm usually interested enough in seeing the color to take a look. So yeah post screencaps.  |

I love to collect them.I don't understand why many HATE them with passion.
I mean you can decide..WATCH or Don't watch.
All in all..its is just a bonus for the fans,-)

All in all..its is just a bonus for the fans,-) Hi John: I would say that the reason some are passionately against colorized versions is because they tamper with the original work, and in some instance - Father of the Bride may not be one of them - is actually akin to redirecting the movie. Just as surely as pan and scan is. Plus, to me, the color always looks so false. Everything is done in the same palette, the same tone - gray or brown. Always looks sort of surreal or fake, to me. But, of course, anyone is entitled to watch or not. I just think that the people who do not like them - and I am one - feel that they alter the film to a disagreeable degree. Judy |

I wonder if there ever was a third film planned?? A follow up?
I mena it sounds dull but you..well could be possible.
Any rumors? infos? ;-)

Maybe I'm off my rocker, but I thought I read some where that there was a third movie planned but Joan Bennett became involved in a scandal and the idea was scrapped. Supposedly her career ran off track in the 50s because of it.

Yup, that happened. I think her husband shot her agent in a jealous rage. What's funny is that would probably amplify her career nowadays. Times, they are a changin'.

this movie comes on TCM tommorow night! i can't wait to see it. i for some reason do not like the colored versions of movies. :/ half the time they don't get the colors right.
