I haven't been on here in ages - I never seem to find the time these days - which is crazy given my insomnia. Anyway, I thought I would post some stuff about Olly Olly Oxen Free, because I took some screen caps..
They're not very good quality. Apologies for that... Also, will try and do some more from other parts of the movie. These are just from my favorite part ^_^

I have a VERY important, totally relevant and necessary query which will render me sleepless until several people have weighed in with their takes on this most pressing issue.
Just WHAT, precisely, was the relationship between Miss Pudd and The Great Sandusky Grandfather Man.
Is she secretly that kid's G-ma?
Did they have an affair?
7 Minutes in Heaven?
Was it love unrequited or an illicit scandalous thing that took place in the wee hours?

Okay and once that's answered can someone tell me: WHO IS The Great Sandusky?!! lol
P.S. this is really embarrassing but I thought OOOF was an animated film LOL I think its because the only thing I've ever seen of it is the cartoonish looking cover. I didn't realise it was a real life film. Oy vey, I need to study up on this girl.
The Great Sandusky was a stunt man. And the grandfather to one of the boys. He was a stunt man. The film is about how they repair his balloon - plan to fly it on his (Sandusky's) birthday to celebrate him. And of course the big finale - their flight Miss Pudd knew him - if I recall correctly
So hold on, a stunt man in the movie or a stunt man for the movie? What you mean is that his role in the movie is a stunt man or a stunt man for one of the actors? lol
P.S. Jess' fun fact for today: The first picture to acknowledge (in the credits) stunt actors on film was Peter Bogdanovich's [starring Barbra Streisand and Ryan O'Neal] "What's Up Doc?".. I thought that was a cool fact!

The Great Sandusky is not actually IN the movie----the movie is about how his grandson and his grandson's friend (two 10/11ish year old boys) want to repair his hot air balloon and make it fly. In their quest to get this done, they run across Miss Pudd (KH), the junk lady. She has all sorts of stuff lying around (they could have shot this in the living room at Fenwick. Kidding!---sort of.) that they think is cool and might be useful. So Miss Pudd befriends the kids and their dog, and they fix the balloon and fly it together. And Kate rides an anchor through the open air, in a feat that's pretty BAMF-y.
But there are all sorts of hints (as we discover Miss Pudd's lonliness, etc) that she knew/was involved with The Great Sandusky, back when he was alive. She has a monologue when the kids are sleeping that kind of leaves you with a feeling of "HUH!?".
So that was my question---wondering what other people thought. Were they involved or not, and to what degree?
Ahh haha thanks for the explination! No wonder Amber was talking of resemblences of this and "Up" which I still haven't seen, but get the gist of - - -

Ya know, I had this long schpeel written about location v. studio shooting that I actually felt added something to this discussion, but you just had to go and piddle on it. Much like Life with a Great Big 'L', you continuously use me as your fire hydrant. I'll wear a wolf mask to the airport, I will!
And your answer stunk! It was 5 words!

Fran: I think the problem with actresses such as Bette Davis and Joan Crawford was that they played SEX SYMBOLS and did woman movies. They were sexy in their day and were the main love interests in the movie. When they got older those woman type movies were dead

Fran: Bette Davis made very different movies from Katherine Hepburn Hepburn. Bette was sexy. So was Crawford. They made woman type movies. Hepburn was the masculine feminist. When their looks went, so did their careers. Hepburn was never that type.

Angela: Personally, I like Bette Davis best she was "a woman for all season" she didn't mince words she did the role without having to apologize for creativity she musters to do the work. Also, she could look different without worrying about her appearance.

Angela: Personally, I felt Bette Davis was the "woman for all seasons" since she used all her creativity to make her artwork. As for Katherine she seems to sound the same - her voice didn't change. Granted she was good in Shakespeare which I give credit.

SJS: Bette had a mostly latent tendency to ham, and she admitted it. She really appreciated a director who could get her to tone it down. She lost respect for a director who would let her get away with it. But she took chances that most actresses wouldn't.
