She may have hated dresses but she sure looked great in them.

I just think its funny how fast she ripped those things off of her when it was end scene. And then she took a nap. Again, age 5. Or is it 95? Hmmm... Aww, sure we've seen the photos from this shoot 1,000 times, but I don't think I've ever seen this exact one: It's sooo goddess-like/...maternity bathrobe? Does anybody else see that? OR is it most likely just my overactive imagination? I'm sad she didn't wear it in the movie.

They're wonderful! There were a couple there I'd never seen - that last one is just stunning! Thanks for posting ♥

woweeee - I definitely LOVE those pictures there!!! lovely ... Funnily enough THIS is the movie that got me hooked on Kate (even though I've seen the classics before .. BUB, AQ.. such ... ) I love her as Bunny Watson - really cute .... my favorite scene is when "Spence" is ready to leave "Kates" flat after he's tried putting on the burned shoes ... and then he comes back again looking like a drunk and they just fall down laughing FUN!!!! I've always wondered whether this scene was improvised by Spence .. I mean that coming back in - they REALLY both look very surprised and as if they are cracking up for real!!! And you can really NOTICE how the world has changed by now when you look at the "computer" thing they built up there - YIKES ;D

I have refreshed this movie in my memory recently so I want to write about it I saw it many times. Not so many as WOTY or AR but still many. And I always forget that I really like it. Maybe not all of it. The script could not exist for me, it's not a masterpiece. And "Bunny" - it's not the name of person for Kate to act. But there are scenes that I can watch and watch again. In any order, without the rest of the movie. Picnic on the roof, dinner in the bathrobes, "Night and Day". And my favorite scene: "I'll bet you write wonderful letters". This is so intensive. I think it's the most intensive scene Kate and Spencer together since WOTY. And I discovered a great moment I didn't notice in the past. The way she looks at him in this scene:

I think it's the most intensive scene Kate and Spencer together since WOTY. And I discovered a great moment I didn't notice in the past. The way she looks at him in this scene: I love this movie and always have...Of late it's grown in respect among critics of the Tracy/Hepburn oeuvre....But people like US have always loved it, it seems. I love the look of it from the opening credits on down. I love the way is "uses" New York (the Ephrons' hometown...and mine). I love Joan Blondell's Peg and her relationship with Bunny - wish there was more of that in the movie. I love Kate's clothes - most of them. So sort of 50's chic...like in Summertime, only more urban. I love the easy, expertise Bunny has on the job. The confidence in her and her dept's abilities. What am I forgetting? Oh, yeah...the two of them. ;D They were really at the peak of their chemical combustion together. They just make every scene so watchable. The rooftop scene is classic...But there are so many moments where they are so in synch. Even little ones, like when he forgets his tape measure and she gets off her chair and they realize it's there. The look she gives him when he grabs it is priceless. Or the looks he give her as she is reciting "Curfew Shall Not Ring Tonight." Or the way she shoves that floating island down...Or the way she steps over him after the "you write wonderful letters" line -always loved how he follows her with his gaze. So many fun parts to this thing. Yeah, sure, this is a typical 50's semi-sex farce that could very well have been played by Doris Day and anyone (not knocking Doris; love her). But somehow the two of them raise it to an art.

You guys make me crack up and wanting to see the film again -
also do remember the so funny scene with Spencer with his shirt out of the pants - hat deep down over his face and playing silly. I so love that scene. Especially for the laugh and giggling of Kate and Joan Blondell ;D

I so love that scene. Especially for the laugh and giggling of Kate and Joan Blondell ;D Oh, yeah...Have always wondered about that scene. She practically falls out of the chair laughing - which has always led me to believe that that one instance - when he comes out from the entry hall - was ad-libbed by him...I mean, I'm sure he was supposed to come out and surprise them, but I think maybe he came out differently than she and Blondell were expecting. Just always seemed like that to me from the way she laughs. If they NEVER did anything like this I might say it was my imagination. But we know that he did things like that to get a reaction out of her a few other times. I'm not sure if the Bryn Mawr line in Adam's Rib was an ad lib....but could have been. You can even see her rolling her eyes trying to keep from reacting. Then there was the Grandma Moses line. I guess there could be some question as to whether or not these things were "planned" ad libs. But the one that was most definitely NOT planned - at least not by anyone but Spencer Tracy - comes in State of the Union. Remember? it came after that crazy lobbyist accosts them in their hotel room. After he's led out, you can see Spencer take a split second look off screen as though he's looking at the camera man or Capra so that they'd be prepared. And then he looks at her and says "He looks a little like your brother, Dick." And Kate cracks up and hauls off and kicks him in the shin - HARD - a pre-Adam's Rib kick in the shin - and waves him away. There is no way that was NOT him trying to crack her up.
