An article from today's 'Arts&Leisure' section of the New York Times called out to me to post in this thread. A.O. Scott bemoans .. what has become of the grand old romantic comedy these days .. and calls back to our Kate (and Spence .. and Cary Grant) and to others as masters of the genre. The print version of the article includes the great jail cell image in BUB that one of our board colleagues uses in their signature at the moment .. MOVIES | February 3, 2008 Film: A Fine Romance, My Friend, This Is By A. O. SCOTT A genre once known for high quality is now a source of lazy commercial fodder. www.nytimes.com/2008/02/03/movies/03scot.html?ex=1202706000&en=4ff6b646e20aedbb&ei=5070&emc=eta1

I was going through some things and i found this book called Outstanding Americans.. went to the index to see if Kate was in it.. found a little paragraph about her in it and this is how it starts.. never knew this by the way
"During a film shoot, Katharine Hepburn broke the heel of her shoe. She didnt ask the cameras to stop rolling. She ad-libbed, 'I was born on the side of a hill' to explain why she stood lopsided and continued with the scene. Thats classic Hepburn: quick, witty, and determined to move ahead."
I always thought that was just part of the script and it fits so well with the scene.. and she ad-libbed it; thats also one of my favorite scenes in the movie. something interesting..

Bringing Up Baby gives me fond childhood memories of my mom showing me and my sister some of her favorite old movies.
