Beautifully written article. Thanks, Martha! I always love watching Holiday and Cary Grant's character (re: the social / economic aspect of the film) must have been a great one for him to sink his teeth in to.
It always seemed strange to me that his character would take a second glance at "Julia" although, had he hadn't, he wouldn't have met her sister "Linda" and we wouldn't have had a great movie to talk about lol

Watched Holiday yesterday on our national channel. It has been years since they aired any classics on that channel and then they choose a film with Kate. What a joy ;D
I totally loose it each time when we get to the scene where Linda and Johnny stands at the window and when Linda asks Ned how it feels to be drunk. It is heartbreaking - and how Kate shows all the emotions going on in the character is just wonderful.
I need to watch my DVD one of these days - am totally hooked on the Holiday wave again ;D

This is my absolute favorite film! Cary and Kate are a lovely pair! I love Leopold, the giraffe! I adore the Susan, Nick, Jonnhy, Ned and Linda Club! (Was it the order? I can´t remenber!) I like the dialogue about drunk between Linda and Neddy! It´s very, very lovely and funny! Poor Girl

This was one of the first KH movies that I saw, just as I began my "looking into Katharine Hepburn" adventure. I loved it. It was so adorable! I was so upset that KH was only a sister at first, but of course, as soon as she came in the picture I knew what would happen. I love the scene were Linda and Neddy are drunk...Overall, it's definitely one of my favorite KH movies
