Did you know he quoted this board in his book? Well, at least we could gain more members this way, and they would most probably know *THE TRUTH* when they log in to this community I didn't have any feelings towards him, but you guys are telling me some stories that makes me strongly dislike him. And I guess I'll never finish that book -well, I had read only the first chapter so far... that won't be a great loss after all.

The man filmed himself from the confines of his kitchen in a wifebeater ridden with holes and sweatstains while he dished on the advantages of a strictly morrel mushroom diet. As he began to present each mushroom from a tiny ziplock bag, we began to suspect that he wasn't just eating those things---all the while, he surreptitiously gave the camera bedroom eyes.
I let him know my thoughts on these happenings. The videos were gone the following day.
Oops?
(And yes, if you look hard into the bowels of the forum, you will see several threads started by Mann himself, heaping praise on our "devotion" towards Kate and asking for our .02 [so he could thusly manipulate to support some horseshit point].)
Anyhoodle, back to Adam's Rib.

You asked... "Hai, mah name's Kathy. I'm THIS MANY: ::holds up four pudgy fingers:: Ah likes Cheerios." Oh, and here, too: SHE'S SO FUZZY AND POLKA-DOTTED. So, those'r my favorites. Up until '49, that is.

Anyhoodle, back to Adam's Rib. Haha yeah, bottom line, he's pretty much a wackjob. That's all you need to know We've complained about him too much on here. If you look in the back of the book with the people he's credited he mentions this board and website. He's ridiculous... Anyway, AR is fantasticcccc ;D

Using an internet forum as a source?!? In a published book? Not that I'm surprised he would do that.... And I made my friend watch AR last night. And to disprove the whole 'no chemistry' thing, she actually asked me if Kate and Spencer had a relationship outside of the film because they were so good together (she knew nothing of Kate before she asked that question). So yeah, chemistry is quite apparent, even to those who know nothing of them.

Today, internet is quite a good source for every sort of info, if correctly used. Plus, it's easier to find something on it, and it's cheaper too And I made my friend watch AR last night. And I swear the chemistry IS apparent between the two of them, I had the very same impression when I first watched the movie -when I wasn't a great Kat fan yet.

As for the chemistry between them - haha :blushes: - that was what I fell in love - sitting in my pajama 6 years old. And then as my mother later told me - "you went closer and closer to the tv-set ( always on the floor) and you were like shot - you didn't see nor hear anything else". She has later told me that when films where aired (before vhs and dvd - gosh do I feel old) I would make a fuss if anyone wanted to see something else - so they let me. My family is great HUH - sacrifice so that I could dream As for the floor thing - not anymore - one gets comfy (couch, stacks of pillows, blankets - hehe

Oh, Jess, please don't quote me on anything that I've said over 3 years ago. ::facepalm:: I was such a Hyper Henrietta at sweet seventeen. But yes, I believe that was my delicate phrasing of the couch scene(s)...
Exiled, been there done that. I echo the advice of Jess the Enigmatic.
And Dreamer, THAT STORY WAS PRECIOUS. You are too adorable. :-D

Today, internet is quite a good source for every sort of info, if correctly used. Plus, it's easier to find something on it, and it's cheaper too You are right that the internet is handy, but you still have to be very careful about where you get your sources from. Wikipedia or a blog are not good sources because people can edit them and make up facts. Well, although I have the book at home, I have not bothered reading it. So I do not know exactly how he used the forum as a source. I suppose if he was trying to get opinions, then fine. But if he was using something that one of us said as a fact to prove a point, then that's not good at all. I mean, I know everything that we say is brilliant, but its just not verifiable. Sorry to be the writing convention police--thats not my intention at all-- its just that if I'm not allowed to use a forum for a research paper for a class, then he should not be allowed to use a forum for a book. And yep, Woman of the Year is up next for movie night!

LMAO.
If that were the case, I can only imagine the chapters that would've been dedicated to the nonsense I've mused during my 4-year stint here.
Chapter 9: To Stink or Not To Stink? Chapter 17: Kate, The Jungle Girl Chapter 32: Porter, Gershwin, Berlin... Hepburn
He more or less joined to gain credibility, suck out a few insights from some of our more seasoned members and ask for our "fan" perspectives. Whatever.
And to get back on topic, I love that the Kanins didn't even TRY to hide the sexual innuendo behind some of their lines:
"Did you enjoy it?" "I've been resting up after a hard---ADAM!"
Bwahaha.

OMG Amber that Adam's Rib quote is absolute Garson bliss. P.S. OMG get that bumper sticker back out in all it's glory!
About all this referencing business. I agree, the net is kinda a bad place for referencing, although not if you use official and/or government websites. At colleges in Australia we are only allowed to use 'new' (within 10 years) information in this course I'm doing and since it usually takes 10 years to write and publish a book, the majority of my sources are from the internet. Although I know what you initially meant, referencing a FORUM.. deplorable! I'd get an automatic 0% if I did that in an essay so I see where you're coming from..
Dreamer, you sound exactly like me with Barbra movies (before I knew Kate.. calm down people) or television spots when I was little. Although, admitedly we did have VHS, it still didn't matter. No one was allowed to talk, even in the commercials! You had an awesome family just like mine awwwww!
Adam's Rib.. um my favourite scene is 100% undoubtedly the mushy 'massage' scene.. although I do love "Act III" as I call it.. the section where she fights the bullies and then the police bit (comedy central) and then later when Spence yanks Kate's hand saying "they're calling their cat" when that woman is randomly vaccuming in the hotel lobby. Yeah, good movie.
