I just wanted to insert this bit into the conversation...  I read "briefly" that so called "Kate" book on google books cause I was sure I couldn't finish it...and I was right lol The part where he says they ceased to have "chemistry" Is he blind? Has he watched any of their movies? and I mean all of them!!!!! I adore the "All about Kate" site so many pics and stuff that I haven't seen before...anyway in the Adam's Rib portion...guess what I came across...the "author" made it quite clear that they did all their kissing "off screen" and that was because they weren't in a "relationship" anymore...well take a look at this mister "author" and wake up and smell the chemistry!!!!!!!   |

OMG really, Courtney? I didn't have the chance to finish "Kate" yet, too, but I could never imagine such a thing -I mean, the off screen kisses that were "involved" in the movie, and the fact they weren't in a relationship anymore (for a while I suppose). And I swear I CAN SEE chemistry everywhere in those pics you posted. They were absolutely perfect as a couple, imho.

To debate with Mann is to give a limited amount of credence to his words, but to infer that there was a rift during AR is laughable. I could name far too many moments in that film [Like, dissertation-esque in length and analysis] where it's so painfully obvious that they are a couple and have been same for quite a long while. Someone once said their relationship at this point was "like an old shoe" and I'm 100% behind that sentiment. Mann is either blind onaccounta his noggin' being too far up his own ass to see the light of day, or the poor guy wasn't shown affection as a child.
Try the Shakespeare tours. Not all of 'em, but I think a lot was going on between them during the 50s and it more or less affected Kate's placement on the globe. No one willfully hops on a plane to Australia to do Shakes with Robert Helpmann without having alterior motives for doing so. That's what I tell myself during the snoozing hour.

PS, those promotional [deleted scene?] shots were my favorite photos for about 5 years. THEY CAN BE SO FINE WHEN THEY'RE NOT SMACKING EACH OTHER AND BEING LAME!
PPS, at the risk of shooting at a dead horse, I'll admit to sifting through a few slides of "Kate" on Google books, and I really love how he refers to the screenwriting duo of AR and PAM as "Ruth" and "Gar". Ewww. Granted, *I* may call them that in private conversation, but I also am not penning a so-called definitive biography on one of their frequent collaborators anytime soon.

I've already had enough when I read that disappointing and irritating bio of Julie written by that hateful guy called Richard Stirling. So I probably know what you mean, but both Kate's books (the 2 books she wrote herself) are at my parents' house in south italy waiting for me, and the only Kate-related bio I have here is this Mann's one (although I have a little book which is full of pics and with a little bit of info, but I read it in half an hour lol) and I have to shift with this one at least until I'll come back to south italy (in a month, more or less).  And actually, Amber, that's why I was so surprised about what Dayna said some posts ago. I can see and perceive such a chemistry between the both of them in Adam's Rib, that I just can't believe their relationship was temporarily (?) over. So, Mann is a liar and we should kill him slowly and painfully, ha?  |

Thank you Courtney for your praise. But I have to say All About Kate would be nothing without the support from friends. I know I have neglected the site for a while - just to busy here in the summer with garden and such. But there will soon be some new stuff. Promise  By the way should any of you have photos - articles you would like to share with others - please do send them! Also - should I have misquoted someone or used dead ending links - please do tell me! My big baby has been to finish her biography - am stuck - so if someone wants to help - please do! |

I didn't knew it... after reading your post here I typed his name on YT and I found all that cr*p. How come he's everywhere? Here in Italy we have a saying that people like him are worse than parsley XD |

He would make these ridiculous videos about useless stuff that no one cares about. I left him a nasty comment and he actually deleted the whole video. And not shortly after he deleted some of his other videos. Strange lol. Wonder if that had anything to do with it.... Can't stand the man. I refuse to read his book. I got it as a gift one year but it's still sitting on my bookshelf haha  No sure what I should do with it... Did you know he quoted this board in his book?  |

Hi I really didn't read the whole book only a few pages on Google books...I'm glad I didn't the parts I read made me sick!!!! I'm glad that he took down those videos... I know I won't go and look him up on youtube!!!!! Where did he get his "supposed" information? and no I didn't know that he quoted this board...what did he say? |
