I think that Cary Grant and Katharine in more pictures would have been great . Of course movies changes after the war and Grant's co stars kept getting younger . There is a hilarious section in the Kanin book which involves Katharine at a function trying to fix the projector . I believe that Katharine and Cary weren't as close friends in later years

I'd love to have seen more Kate & Cary films too. Why do you think their friendship dwindled, especially given that Kate kept most of her friends for life?
Kate and Jack Lemmon might have been fun too, although I can't think of a specific vehicle for them. Then seeing as how she acted with Laurence Olivier & Ralph Richardson, she might as well have performed with John Gielgud too. It would have been interesting to see the 2 of them in a Shakespeare play on stage.

I believe that Katharine and Betsy Blair were pretty good friends - once Grant got divorced it probably caused some tension.

It would have been great to see her with Bette Davis or Garbo or Judy Garland. I often wonder why she didn't do more films with James Stewart. Did they remain friends after shooting had ended for The Philadelphia Story?

For women, I would've liked to have seen her star with Lauren Bacall, Myrna Loy, Judy Garland, and Audrey Hepburn.
Men on the otherhand, I would choose Clark Gable and Gregory Peck. I too would've liked to have seen her star more with Cary Grant and James Stewart. Maybe one more with John Wayne also.

Gregory Peck would have been interesting. I also would like to have seen her work more with Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart... Judy Garland, definitely Garbo... hmm... Audrey Hepburn, Anne Bancroft
What about modern actors? If Kate was an actress right now (young or old), who do you think she should work with? I think Leo DiCaprio. Ralph Fiennes... Depp! Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon, Shirley Maclaine (could be past or present), Cate Blanchett, Jodie Foster, Judi Dench

Assuming we can make Kate the same age as her co-stars -- I'd like to have seen Kate in a film with Russell Crowe and also with Colin Firth. At any age, I would have liked another film with Peter O' Toole (they had wonderful chemistry in LIW -- you could totally believe the love/hate relationship cause you could feel the sparks between them) also another film with Anthony Hopkins -- their scenes together were powerful -- again -- you could feel a chemistry of two great performers working well together.
I'd like to have seen Kate do a Shakespearean play or film of a play with Kenneth Branagh -- As You Like It. Liked to have seen her do Anthony and Cleopatra with Richard Burton -- think they'd have been exciting to see together.
As to roles I'd have liked to see Kate play -- definitely Joan of Arc -- just seeing the snippet of her in the role for color tests -- looked wonderful. Also with Gary Cooper in "Atlas Shrugged" with her playing Dagny Taggert. Ayn Rand who wrote the book stated that she felt that Kate was the only actress who could play Dagny properly.
I love Roz Russell in "His Girl Friday" but can't help wanting to see Kate in it, too. Also when I saw "The Awful Truth" kept thinking that I would have liked it even better with Kate in it. I think that she and Cary were magic on screen together -- so I'd have teamed them at every opportunity. Wasn't even a romantic thing with them so much as it was an explosion of pizzazz and sparkle -- their comic timing and reading of lines just meshed perfectly plus they looked beautiful together on screen. Her chemistry with Grant was totally different than her chemistry with Spencer Tracy yet both were very effective. Anyway -- that's some of my wish list. : )
