Spitfire aired on TCM last friday but I had to set a tape for it because I went to see "Batman Begins" with my brothers and it was great. Sorry about the shamless plug but seriously...go see it. Anyway I finally sat down to watch it today and I just wanted to share my thoughts with all of the other Kate fans here. The movie was a tad hokey and Kate's accent a bit off (hey nobody is perfect) but I still thought she gave a good performance. That's what I love and admire about her-even when she knew that a movie stank she still gave it her all and turned out a performance good enough for anyone to care about seeing it 70 some odd years after the fact. Fast forward 70 years and see if you can say that about some of today's "stars."

I taped it also when it aired on TCM. I've seen it before, so I taped it for keep sakes. And yes, in my opinion, it really isn't all bad as most people say it is. It had a decent story and if one can get past the accent, it's pretty admissible.

Well it was certainly different, and well done Kate for making such a brave attempt. But I'm afraid this is one of my least favourite of her films - she just doesn't seem right in the part somehow.
