OK, I don't know if this counts but last night the same friend I am Kate Converting still had Bringing Up Baby in the DVD player. He's kind of insane. He wanted to watch the "frantic part" where the psychiatrist with the interesting hair tries to convince her there is a leopard on his roof as he takes her arm and starts leading her into the house. The look of horror on her face for some reason cracks him up every time. So we watched that about three times and so of course we had to go to the drunk (or the little leprechaun as my friend calls him)who mumbles in his Irish accent (or Scottish? I can never tell the difference... well, sort of. Scottish is much more attractive in my opinion but in this case, I assume it's Irish? Which maybe I should know because I am Scottish and Irish... ;D), sits down and proceeds to freak out when Baby jumps up onto the table. So funny... Oh! and of course the Swingin' Door Suzie scene. Love that one. So that is what my night consisted of That and like 3 episodes of Six Feet Under (I can't believe it's over!) What can I say, I live in the midwest.

Oh, yeah Swingin' Door Suzie was great. I used it in a Katharine Hepburn video I made a while back. I slowed it down a bit and it looked awesome.

Mrs. Delafield Wants To Marry (1986) (TV) Katharine Hepburn stars in this TV movie. Though not as great as Laura Lansing Slept Here, it was still nice to see Hepburn still working hard at what she does best. She looked so radiant in this movie, and oddly younger than how old she really was.

Love Affair - The first time I've seen this one. I've sort of been overlooking it... not wanting to watch her last movie. I'm too sentimental. Anyway, I finally watched it. Her scene was much longer than I thought and the highly anticipated "f*ck a duck" was more like a whisper than the loud exclamation I was imagining. Really strange hearing that... I think I've formed a somewhat negative opinion about Warren Beatty just from reading Berg's biography -- maybe I shouldn't form an opinion based on one person's account but... he sounded very egotistical -- and -- if what Berg said is true -- I completely lost respect for him when he said people weren't going to see the movie because of her, they were going to see it because of him -- the greatest director of that time (?!!). I didn't even want to watch the movie except for the part that she was in! I even considered fast-forwarding! Anyway, she was beautiful. Can you imagine, in 1994 (or any time for that matter), doing a movie with Katharine Hepburn?? I would have needed Xanax.

Almost forgot: Love Among the Ruins - Still captivating (and beautiful) as an "elderly" lady (I have a hard time thinking of her ever being an elderly lady since she never acted like one). A sweet movie -- Laurence Olivier as well.

*YAWN* This forum is rather boring right now. lol
Pat & Mike - I love watching Kate and her athleticism. Women play tennis a lot more aggressively now I've noticed.... They were practically taking naps in between strokes.

Hi Catharine
The forum has been a bit slow but here's an incredibly rare picture of Katharine to cheer you up . The forum can have a guessing game as to when it was taken and who the guy is - that's an easy question.

Help - how do you insert a picture?

Smith! I am eagerly awaiting this photo! Here are the instructions I gave Judy a while back... I hope they are clear and that you have a PC: If the picture is from another website: Right click on the picture you want to post. Select Properties, highlight the URL, click Copy and then exit out of the box (assuming you have a PC and not a Mac... I have no clue what to do with one of those). Then, in the message box you type (without any spaces) [ img ] Paste the URL here [ / img ] If the picture is saved to your computer: Go to a file-upload site like www.photobucket.com. There you can upload pictures from your harddrive and save them there (which also allows you to free up space on your computer if you want to trust the site that much). Once you've uploaded the picture, it will appear in thumbnail-form under the browse box. Click the thumbnail to see the full-size picture. Right click on that one to copy the URL... Everything else is the same as above... Or if you're lazy, you can just send the picture to the webmaster and ask him/her to post it for you ;D

The Lion in Winter-I bought this movie on e-bay (I got a good deal) and watched it yesterday after it came. I was afraid that I wouldn't like it (all mideval stuff bores me) but I ended up loving it. The set, the score, and of course KH's performance were superb! Eleanor of Aquitaine is definitely in the top 5 greatest performances Katharine Hepburn ever gave.

Summertime - I liked it better the second time around. Kate looks amazing... the story is cute... and of course the setting! It makes me want to go to Italy even more.
Morning Glory - She definitely deserved an Oscar for this one. It's amazing that she didn't get another until the sixties. I loved her character and how they seemed to insert characteristics of Kate herself into Eva Lovelace's. Was it written for her? I don't know the story behind it at all. I love the party scene. She was so cute with her high pitched voice lol It's on my list of movies to buy.

The library. They have an unusually large collection of old movies... including Love Among the Ruins. I also got Sylvia Scarlett as an inter-library loan. They pretty much know me as the Katharine Hepburn fan. Scary, I know. A couple weeks ago one of the girls in the video department was checking me out and saw that I had a KH movie (don't remember which) and was like, you should check out Bringing Up Baby and I was like, yeah (HELLO?!) it's one of my favorites... Then she tried to pull out Holiday and was like, Now this is a great one... "Saw that one, too...." "Well, you're just an aficionado then." LOL

Didn't she see the script for it on Pandro Berman's (producer) desk? They had wanted it for some other actress but Kate demanded that she have it. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Sea of Grass-This movie started out okay, but then it began to drag. I don't think they made the affair between Lutie and Chamberlain too clear. Elia Kazan's direction was great and Tracy and Hepburn were top-notch as always, but it certainly doesn't rank among their best work together. It's hard to believe that this film was shot almost entirely on an MGM set; the landscapes looked so real. Are Keeper of the Flame and State of the Union better than this (I've seen neither)? Maybe I should stick to the duo's comedies; although, I'm determined to see everything Kate did, even if that includes a few less than astonishing films ;D
