Break of Hearts is a charming little movie. It ought to be seen more. I would post some clips of Little Minister from my tape, if only my computer wasn't being an ass.

This is one of her films, that I don't understand that they did not put on DVD in Region 1. Bought it last year in Spain (thanks to isis) and have really enjoyed seeing it over and over again

YAY! It's been ages since I've seen BOH. In fact, I think it was a year ago. *gasp* They [TCM] don't play it that much anymore. It's all about SLS or GWCTD or TPS, BUB....and DRAGON SEED? HAHAHA. WHY TCM WHY WHY WHY?
ps, i cried at the end of The Little Minister. AHHH I need to work on the waterworks.

I JUST watched 'The Corn Is Green'
Loved it.
I recently received (finally!) the 100th Anniversary Collection. Have recently watched all of the films. Sylvia Scarlett - my word. I loved it. And for some reason I found Kate rather sexy. Maybe that has something to do with the fact that I'm gay, but clearly in love with Kate, so Kate as a boy just excites me, naturally.
Dragon Seed was...interesting. It wasn't my favorite. But I liked it a lot. I think that's all I can muster really. Hahaha. Nope. It was great. And certainly a very interesting watch.
Without Love...Hepburn. Tracy. Cute. Plus Lucy. Just great.
OH UM UNDERCURRENT was fantastic. I see what ya'll are saying. Oh my God. I shrieked when that horse scene near the end occurred. Don't yet know what came over me. But a scream did escape my lips.
STILL HAVEN'T SEEN MORNING GLORY that's next.
I have been saving it for last. Also, I have heaps of other stuff to watch that I've bought recently. Literally countless movies. Well I could count them. They are really only countless because I am a lazy person. And tired so much of the time that working through them is happening very slowly. That is also why I haven't been on here as much as I'd like. Doubt that I have been missed which is an odd comfort. My Kate film count is now at 29 DVDs They seem to come in bursts. Cannot wait for the next lot.

The Anniversary Collection arrived today - so of course Dragon Seed (the second last to see ) went into my DVD player at once. Really enjoyed the film - was surprised too. All over the net there is hardly any info on this film and I think it belongs to one of her best. It is not to compare with AR, WOTY or LIW but it is history which I love to learn about. I think they made Pearl S. Bucks book into a wonderful film. Have made some screen caps* for you guys - will post them under * - so you can see for yourselves

The Corn Is Green - better late than never. I really like it, I didn't suppose it'd turn out to be so good. To be honest, the plot wasn't important to me - quite simple and plain, I think. But I was admiring Kate and many smart lines in this movie. And I thought in every second of it: Oh, come on! She can't be 72! One of the best Kate's late movies for me.
And I've seen recently Love Affair again. Ok, I admit: only the scene with Kate, because... I just can't stand this movie! The only good things about it (except of Kate, of course) are funny stories in Berg's book.

Really by now its one of my favorites... except .. uhm .. am I the only one who thinks she should have married the other guy - he is so much NICIER than Charles Boyer in that pictures. Might be only me though

Morning Glory - yes, I haven't seen it before. I like it but I'm not so sure about the second part, after Eva stays at Easton's place. From this point it became too flat for me. But the first part, scenes in the Easton's office and the party - just great! And this Hamlet - the best Hamlet ever!

Have just re-watched The Corn is Green for the trillionth time. The film is such a gem. Today I began wondering - you know the scene where Miss Moffat sees the squire about Morgan. Well as she enters the room with all the animals from Africa - I was reminded of John Huston and the time as she visited him in his house in Ireland before making TAQ and his many artifacts and sculptures. Well could it be possible that Cukor and Kate did make a little game with us - and made up some similarities of Huston to the squire? Am not sure if my mind was just been set up on Africa - because I recorded White Hunter Black Heart the other day - haven't watched it yet. But as I saw it scheduled and knowing that Peter Viertel was the author (who too was working on TAQ) - in fact according to the site where I read about the film it said it was about working on TAQ and John Huston's hunting desire. Beside being from and with Clint Eastwood. Any idea if the film is good? And then the final frame in the film - the same as you see a decade later in The Man Upstairs. Here Kate is standing in the door - with her last words to Morgan still in our ears "We will be here" - almost the same she said to Mooney. As if a game from 1979 continued in 1992. But hey maybe it is just the mind of a fan playing games

I watched Holiday again yesterday! It's one of my favourites!! It's just one of those 'feel-good-movies'. I LOOOVE the scene when she's on Cary's shoulders and they do the flip! And just basicaly the whole scene in the playroom!
