I don't blame her. I get worn out after watching that movie. It's one you kind of have to plan ahead of time to watch.

OMF. The first time I saw LDJIN, as much in love with Katty as I was, I needed 4 breaks to get through that thing. More to absorb what I just saw than anything else.......O'Neil is some depressing stuff haha. My mom LOVED Suddenly Last Summer, though. It's sorta on the same lines as LDJIN, so maybe you can have her watch that and then try LDJIN again. But PLAN it, because, like Shaun said, it ain't just any old movie. ;D

Hell yeah. It is long isnt it. I found it absolutely enthralling though. But then I love that kind of material. Suddenly, Last Summer was another one my mom wasnt too keen on. I think perhaps where I love that type of thing, she hates it. I mean Suddenly Last Summer was just so good. I even recorded Kate's opening lines. They are the ringtone on my phone. I get a call...
Sebastian always said "Mother..."
It's hilarious. People are like "what?" I also have... Henry: Is it rich despising me, is it rewarding? Eleanor: No. Henry: then STOP! Eleanor: How? It's what I live for
People must find me odd when I take calls.
Basic point here though: I fricken love Long Day's Journey. Brilliant. Not something I'd watch often - the length - but brilliant. I nearly cry, at Mary's desperation when she falls to her knees and screams at Edmund "STOP SUSPECTING ME!". She's amazing. Watching her fall apart. I think that it might possibly be the finest dramatic performance of all time. That, and The Lion In Winter. I dunno. I'm over analysing now. lol. as always.

Long Day's Journey into Night is one of the finest performances of Kate, if not the finest/best. Always thought it was a shame that she didn't get an Oscar for that one. She was much better than Anne Bancroft in The Miracle Worker (The Story of Helen Keller) even though it was a touching movie, it seems as they often win.

The Glass Menagerie-a fine movie. I enjoyed all of the performances except the one from the actor playing Jim O'Connor. He felt like some sort of motivational speaker in his scenes. I thought he and Joanna Miles (who was superb) had no chemistry. Other than that, I loved this movie. The mood was great and so were the sets.

Oh my god yes! I agree - The Glass Menagerie was great. It's the only one of her tv films I own. I have to say...liked it over all...but Kate did make it. Imagine it without her. Brrr! Cold. She made it gorgeous. I especially love how she sat on the couch next to the daughter (forget her name) whens he found out she wasn't going to Rubicams business school. That kind of legs open, feet curled over. Loved it. I laughed so hard at first to be honest.

I know, I laughed rAHlly rAHlly hard at first, too. I mean, that was Trigger Hicks going through menopause. But I love Tennesee Williams, so I thought they all did a good job with it. ;D Yah, I'm trying to get my mind off the menopause joke but I can't. Peace out.

I'm looking forward to menopause to be honest. I think it sounds wonderful. ;D Well, I mean, I know I'm not gonna get it. But in my head...I am. I can be an actress too. Er, actor. Er. Oh dear. dear dear dear.
I feel like I'm in a scene from Long Day's Journey. I'm waiting for Edmund to say "momma, stop talking".

Oh yes the couch scene. That was one of my favorites.
The Madwoman of Chaillot-this one was strange, a movie I'd have to see again to really enjoy. However, I loved the score and the opening scene. The first 30 minutes bored me, probably because there was hardly any Kate. Question: in the end, where were those men led? Did she just leave them to wander aimlessly down that dark tunnel or did they fall off a cliff? After all, that basement was a cave! But there was no screaming, so......

I think they fell into a black hole, to be quite honest. A black hole of fun. They called Miss Cleo and had a free tarot card reading party.
I'm Really Hyper. Holy Houghton.
G(J?)IBLETS!! WELL GIVE ME THE G(J?)IBLETS THEN. HAHAHA TMOC has SUCH a 70s score that it gives me a 70s giggle-fit. Laaaadeeeedooooooooooo *hums like the 70s score ladies* In other totally irrelevant news, it's October 12 and there's a freaking Blizzard in Buffalo. *sigh* It seems like 45 years since I've seen a Kath movie (one that I don't have on DVD. I have a MAHD craving for Undercurrent). I need to grab my pal Irene and break into another house, clearly.

That would be The Lion in Winter - again - can watch this one over and over - this time I saw it with the comment of Anthony Harvey -also again. Great - there where some pretty stories to hear Anthony hears footsteps outside his room at the hotel and Kate is slipping a note written on a Kleenex under his door saying: "I hope the stars and the moon and the sun are with you. I trust you. Love Kate" This was after that finally agreed in letting her hair down in the scene in front of the mirror. Think that take courage to do - Uh huh Wauh This is a one of the strongest scenes I've ever seen.

I read about that snow storm on MSN! I like snow, but not in October. Is that vcr of yours still busted? Awesome, Buffalo is national news!! whooo!!! And yeah, we've just recently discovered that it's not the VCR/DVD that's screwed up, but rather the cables and wires and connection in my house. So guess what that means? Either I move out or I'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO WATCH MY TAPES AGAIN........at my house, that is. Does that not make you cry for me? Because it sure makes me does. ::bawls:: Thanks for the concern, Shaunerz. ;D
