Seems Kate was quite an animal lover. We all know about Lobo the dog and Amos the monkey, but who was this? www.doctormacro.com/Images/Hepburn,%20Katharine/Annex/Annex%20-%20Hepburn,%20Katharine_05.jpg Looks like the whole link doesn't copy - I'm referring to the photo of Kate and the exotic bird

(Hahaha Kathy looks like "Ingrid from the Frigid North"!) Yeah, Kate LOVED horses too. she took riding lessons as a child -- she rode a pony named Leopard, who was spotted. Ate dirt a couple of times. She loved him a lot because they were both "speckled". And later on Spence used to call Kate's freckles "speckles" hehe. She learned to ride sidesaddle for Mary of Scotland. She foxhunted a few times and rode in a show on a horse named Victorious. She rides Victorious in Keeper of the Flame. Both of the horses used in Keeper of the Flame were Spencer's.

Can someone tell me please so I don't have to be ignorant any more? lmao at all the men oogling her in that shooting picture! What was she doing there anyway? Did she really hunt? Love Gem

Sorry Gem - I don't actually "know" much about them, other than their names. Kate apparently had a pet monkey called Amos during the 1930s and there are a couple of photos of them together - one has already been posted on this forum somewhere. As you've probably guessed, I'm not much of a whizzkid when it comes to posting photos...
As for Lobo, he was Kate & Spence's dog and she mentions him in Me

Katharine specialised in a sub group of photographs - I have seen about 5 of these photographs where she is the woman in a sea of men and usually they are all looking at her very intently .
It makes you realise that on the set of many of her pictures Katharine was probably one of the few woman on the set - it must have been great to have Laura around for some female company

I half recall mentioning the dog in Me. I'll have to read it again. Thanks for updating me on the monkey. What an odd choice for a pet. Love Gem

Hahaha it's the most random and amusing photo ever.. sexy chickens. Reminds me of another crazy photo I found today. It's not Kath, but it deserves a shoutout for its extreme hilarity. Ida Lupino:
