Well Katharine is mentioned in the novel "The Group" . For those not familiar with the novel it deals with 8 Vassar graduates in 1933 and follows them after their graduation .

Valles: Story of my life, too...I've had the book for quite a while and can never find the time to read it...I just figure it will always be there for me when I'm ready for it. JS

Dug out this old thread just to say I came across a very brief Kate mention in a rather less than wonderful Sidney Sheldon story, A Stranger in the Mirror. A bit of something & nothing describing a would-be actress: "she was no Kate Hepburn, but the role didn't call for one" Still, it's always good to see Kate's name pop up anywhere

Sinclair Lewis's "It Can't Happen Here"... one of the characters is described as looking like Hepburn...I wonder why he chose that particular actress? ;D

I like this thread. Here are a few more:
Sharon Pomerantz – Ghost knife
Neta Jackson – The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Real
Christi Phillips – The Rossetti Letter

In the novel called Love Walked In, the author talks about The Philadelphia Story quite a few times.

Really? I watched the movie two week ago but it doesn´t say nothing about Kate. Serena, you can tell something more...

I guess Kate is not mentioned in the movie (I haven't seen it yet and don't know if I will as I didn't like the book so much). It's just a small and not very significant mention, but still I think it's great she was mentioned. Maybe you can take a peek at the book in the store

Don't know if this counts...but I was looking in this HUGE book about Vanity Fair and the numerous pictures that have been published in the mag...stumbled upon (or rather, searching for) Kate. Found her: and on the page directly across was...who else, Spencer Tracy. Aaah, C'est parfait! Anyway...I don't know if that counts as a novel...it was just a book but it got me excited.

So, apparently Kanin's "A Thousand Summers" is based on Spence and Kate (25-year love affair, etc). Has anyone actually read this? I've heard mixed reviews.
...and I kind of just bought it for a penny off Amazon.

I quite enjoyed "The Group". It's a fascinating portrayal both of the characters and of their time. Kate's reference is pretty fleeting, and mostly negative (a character dislikes her) if I recall- and I think they also mention her appearing somewhere the characters go.
